It's the double 'LL"s that get folks, when it is the double 'pp's that are included when in reference to the country's spellings- there is only one 'L'. The 'P' and 'F' spelling when it refers to the people is usually open to one's perogative. best, - --Rafael-- ------------------------------ From: Date: Tue, 12 Jan 1999 16:51:26 EST Subject: eskrima: Re:kenpo stick <> I too was not impressed with the handling of the stick in PW, but I give the benefit of the doubt to the martial artists because the director, choreographer or editor may have screwed with the moves. Movies are difficult judges of what a person can really do.. see: Van Damme for the positive fx of good editing and Inosanto in any movie for negative (he's much better than the ten seconds we get to see). - --Rafael-- ------------------------------ From: Joel McNamara Date: Tue, 12 Jan 1999 16:20:08 -0800 (PST) Subject: eskrima: Central Oregon FMA I recently moved to Bend, OR and was wondering if anyone knew of any FMA instructors in the area. I've heard of some schools in Eugene and Portland, but if possible would like to avoid the 2+ and 3.5 hour respective drives. (However, any feedback on instructors in those two areas would be appreciated too - just in case). Thanks in advance. Joel ------------------------------ From: "Dr. Jerome Barber" Date: Wed, 13 Jan 1999 14:55:33 EST Subject: eskrima: Seeking Information on Raymond Toboasa & Florintino Pancipanci I would appricate any information that anyone can provide regarding the late FMAs Masters, Raymond Tobosa and/or Florintino Pancipanci. I have read the material on GM Tabosa in the book "Filipino Martial Arts Culture" and I would like to get more information about his school in Hawaii, in the 1970 - 1980's. I have reason to believe that the unnamed instructor/partner in the Tabosa school during that period was GM Pancipanci. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
