Mik, Again, one option is always a custom maker. That way you choose size and shape, not to mention thickness, steel, handle material, color, etc. I like Black Cloud Knives/Lazi Scabo and I think Ernest Mayer (sp) of BCK will do custom designs so you could start with the Filipino Box Cutter and work up/down from there. John ------------------------------ From: Date: Sun, 14 Mar 1999 21:38:17 -0800 Subject: eskrima: Kerambit /cleansing I've posted on the DTL Kerambit by Kelly Worden before. I still like it. I did review his tape recently, and for anyone with FMA background, it probably doesn't break new ground. My Tai Chi teacher used to do various cycles during the year. For instance in the spring he would do a month of daily cleansing by drinking lemon water, followed by taking ginseng for a month. One alternative to lemon water that I find useful is apple cider vinegar. The only people that won was the tv executive and a certain promoter with a pineapple on his head. The woman judge was objected to eight days before yet she still stayed and claimed that H threw more punches. My better half said at that point "yes dear, but they are meant to connect". Lewis failed in the fact that he didn't finish the job, showing too much respect. But the shame of the judges must bring into question the honour of their role and the examination of their bank balances. It happened to the olympic committee so why not here. Time for Holyfield to retire. Time for Lewis to step forward and take the crown and be the champiuon he deserved. From: "Marc Denny" > Date: Sat, 13 Mar 1999 23:15:14 -0800 Subject: eskrima: Hail the Champ A Howl of Greeting to All: Congratulations to the new undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, Lennox Lewis-and the corruption of two judges cannot change that. I am proud of my record in betting boxing, (the only time I've ever lost is when I listened too an inside tip) but after I raised the question of this fight on the Digest, I ducked giving my own prediction because I found it disconcerting that Holyfield changed his quiet, confident style to one of cockiness; I refer to his prophecy of victory in the third. I have always admired H. but the cocky thing is not his psychological type. I thought he did not look properly warmed up coming in, although he did look loose-too lose? In contrast I thought Lewis looked tight and his eyes shifted a lot-so it was a major mistake on H's part to relax through the first two rounds and let L. get mentally right. I was surprised at H's inability to exert sustained attack whenever he got in, and after the third L. controlled range well. I think H. can do better- maybe he has a hard time getting up for a fight after having been to the mountain top two times against Tyson-but the better man tonight was Lewis. Is it just me or has the quality of the episodes declined since they became a comedy vehicles for Sammo's co-star? The MA displays seem mudane now in comparison with the earlier stuff.
