Mr. Denny - congratulations on your announcement. I hope you and the new Mrs. Denny have a long and happy marriage. I myself just had my 7th (!!!) anniversary. Shooh eeeh, that scares me to write that. I also want to take this opportunity to publicly thank you for your great help in the early days of my JKD/FMA training. For those who don't know, when I first started with Paul Vunak in 1986, I would drive over to L.A. (from Phoenix) once a month to spend a weekend training. For the first 2 years or so, Vu would always have Mr. Denny come by for part of the weekend to help. He was ALWAYS extremely generous and helpful. Never once did he pull the "since I am the senior, that gives me the right to f**k with the junior" routine. If anyone ever gets the chance to learn from him, GRAB IT! From what I seen in the Garimot system feinting is never used. Every movement of the stick is made to count. IMO, Paltik, Witik, and twirling, etc. would be better than feinting. It's better to hit 3 times with one arm movement than once. I forget the dos and the don'ts that were discussed by members of this list. Can any of you refresh my memory ? I'm planning on flying over Memorial weekend and would like to take my sticks with me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian Johns Columbus Ohio ------------------------------ From: "Cartlon H. Fung,D.D.S." While it is a valuable tool in sparring if you are truely thinking "fight"...the most effective feint is one that can hurt you. If it truely posses a threat then is really is offensive.
