A video may be in the works. Not sure. You might contact Suro Mike Inay... Actually, it is better described as a system for a longer heavier weapon, e.g. a kampilan, than a two-handed system as it is both a one and two handed system. To check out the instructors and stats you can see it at http://www.wizard.com/~kyud/seminar.html And to see the Total Approach Organization http://www.wizard.com/~kyud/total.html on the seminar page you can get a registration form if wanted. I think it will be a good seminar. ------------------------------ From: MdlAgdLftr@aol.com Date: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 22:07:52 EDT Subject: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V6 #237 >>I hear very little of this weapon (Kampilan), and even less of those who actually know how to use one<< I seem to recall an article in a MA magazine some years ago about Reny Latosa, and the Kampilan. The gist of the article was that Mr. Latosa had sought out, and studied at length with, Filipino masters of the art of the Kampilan. Looks like he would be a good source of information if you are able to track him down, which shouldn't be too hard, considering there are many players here on the Digest that know him well. Good luck. Kim ------------------------------ From: Wschpunyo@aol.com Date: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 22:48:20 EDT Subject: eskrima: Just a reminder Greetings! Just a last minute reminder. For example, I have never met Guro Inosanto, but with all of the systems he has been allowed to teach, what parts of the said systems would he not teach anymore (like disarms?) either due to lack of time, or didn't feel certian parts were necessary anymore etc.? Or another example would be Remy Presas' Modern Arnis. How does what he taught in the 70's or 80's compare to what he teaches now? Are there things he doesn't do anymore that he did then, and why? Just curious, Joe ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 21:03:35 -0700 (PDT) Subject: eskrima: . ------------------------------ End of Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V6 #238 **************************************** To unsubscribe from this digest, eskrima-digest, send the command: unsubscribe eskrima-digest -or- unsubscribe eskrima-digest your.old@address in the BODY of email (top line, left justified) addressed to majordomo@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com.
