Tommy 'the Whip' will sell it to you if you contact him directly. Or he used to. It is a small, but good pamphlet. The Pananandata Rope Fighting book is now out-of-print, but was originally published by Paladin Press. La Navaja Antigua Espanola is probably the last book you refer to, but it's in Spanish and historical -- not tactical -- in nature. The author is Rafael Martinez del Peral, and the publisher is Sietefam, in Madrid. Now, the good news: a new book titled Sevillian Steel, the Traditional Knife-Fighting Arts of Spain, will be released in a few months. It's filled with illos and photos, and explains the history and combat evolution of the navaja, along with its three different styles of fighting. Good luck. Because of this, Gat Puno Abon is considering putting together a five day Summer camp down here in Miami, Florida, perhaps July 14-18, as a way to introduce more people to the system. The camp would include various aspects of "Garimot" Arnis and Harimaw Buno. If anyone might be interested, please contact Gat Puno Abon at gatpuno@aol.com. Please share any thoughts with him about the dates, etc. Thank you. Lonnie Pollard ------------------------------ From: "BILL MCGRATH" Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1999 21:23:47 -0700 Subject: eskrima: Possible HTML causes I always wondered why people were sending HTML code with their posts until I did it myself several times. Ray was kind enough to point me in the right direction to hunt out the problem, so I figured I would pass the info on. Whenever I copy a few lines from a previous issue of the digest and insert them into my post I wind up with a long string of HTML code on the end of the post. Ray had me look in "Format" on my header bar and there it was, the "Rich Text (HTML)" or "Plain Text" choices had Rich Text (HTML) selected, so I set it to Plain Text and figured the problem was solved. I posted HTML a few more times before I realized that the system will automatically switch back to Rich Text HTML each and every time I copy a line from somewhere else like ED or a web site and insert it into my post. Also, when I begin to type out an email address, the program I use (MS Outlook Express 4,) would complete the address for me and for some reason took this as an excuse to switch back to Rich Text (I didn't have this problem with previous versions of MS OE). If I can remember to check the Format bar when I am completely finished writing my post, I should have the problem solved. This works with MS Outlook Express 4, so if you use Netscape or something else your program may be different (if so please share the info with us, I hate scrolling through HTML). Now if I can only figure out how to keep my program from alternating the spacing in my posts (any ideas anyone?)
