Tuhon McGrath, I don't use Outlook Express, but I would guess that if you look through your "Options" (I would guess that's what it's called since that's what MS calls it in most of their other apps) you'll probably find a default setting for the RTF/HTML and Plain Text option ... this is just an educated guess. In Netscape, go to the "Edit" menu, then go to "Preferences". Under "Preferences, go to "Mail & Groups". Under "Mail & Groups" go to "Messages". There's a checkbox labeled "By default, send HTML messages". I believe that if you uncheck this box, that this will correct the problem. Is there any instruction to be had on this subject. Are there any really good books, videos etc...? Comments? I live in the Netherlands (somewhere in Europe) and I'm sure my trainer/teacher (what is the correct term in englisch?) would love to read it. No disrespect intended, but is this pamphlet worth the effort to get it over here? What would be the costs? Sincerely, Ruud ------------------------------ From: "Michael Kitchen" Date: Sat, 12 Jun 1999 18:17:07 -0400 Subject: eskrima: Achilles tendon injury Delurk: Well, I'm sitting here looking at my left leg in a splint and the 'orthopods' number to call on Monday. 45 minutes into class this morning (after a proper warm-up and stretch) during a drill, I did a switch-step to throw a left kick. I heard and felt a 'POP!' and then had the sudden urge to *not* support myself with the left leg. (My first thought was, "Damn, I broke my leg!?") We got an ice-pack on the leg within 30 seconds and elevation. Feeling around the back side of my left heel feels 'soft' compared the the right side. Hmmmm, this could be bad. So it's off to the Emergency Wait and a few trauma Doctors have a look and feel. I hear, "..possible partial tear or complete tear of the achilles tendon." Yep, *that is* ugly. I don't know if I will have to go under the knife but when they did the 'flexation' test on each leg--the left foot did not respond (they squeeze your calf muscle and watch you foot move.) I have a bad feeling about this one. So--anyone else out there with unfortunate experiance of Achilles tendon injury? How long before you could train again? How long before you felt you were 100% again (if ever)? (Oh yea, I'm uhh...ummm...39 years old, so my recovery time isn't that a a kid, anymore.) What exercises did you do that proved the most beneficial to your recovery? Anything else that you found helpful to speed recovery? Dang it, I *knew* we should have done sticks today...... Ray, I will take this off line if you feel that it is off topic. You can -probably- get it for $10 or less. His email address was tmeadows@fix.net. Not sure if it is still good or not. It is a small (5.25" x 8.5" format, 24 pages) basic pamphlet on learning to use a whip. It has Tom's Latigo y Daga emblem on the front, but it is not about LyD, just Latigo...
