Hello fellow MA'S; Would one of you be kind enough to email me the video of Angel Cabales to the following address: ruwachdesign@hotmail.com I would sincerely appreciate it, also I'm on a T1 line, so I guess I'm spoiled. What bugs me is receiving big attachments in my e-mail that I'm not expecting. If he sent me a query first, I could redirect him to another e-mail address where big attachments aren't a problem. If, however, he sends me a big attachment that fills up my Inbox allotment and this causes me not to receive an importan e-mail (in fact, maybe that's what happened to the e-mail I was supposedly sent regarding my knife being backordered), then I get a bit upset. As for Khalid spreading the word about Eskrima, go to www.deja.com and check out RMA ... some of the stuff Khalid posts tears Eskrima down (i.e.: he started a big thread about how FMA practitioners don't have any stamina). As I understand it, he did train with Angel and was listed in Wiley's book as one of the Masters under Angel. Maybe he's good, I don't know. What I do know is that, judging from his posts on RMA and some private e-mail discussions I've had with him, he's a flake and his head's not screwed on quite straight (regardless of any martial skills/abilities he may possess). Just my opinion, though ... Mike _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I received a 1.1MB clip last June 2. The filename is "khalid.mpg". I promptly replied saying that sending MPEGs through e-mail was not the way to go. I suggested that the sender set up a web site for those wanting to view the clips. Apparently, my advice fell on deaf ears. > Not being wary enough, I opened it and > found out that it is a clip of Angel Cabales demonstrating some techniques. > I don't know if it has a virus, though. Don't worry. MPEGs can't carry viruses. > I don't, however, appreciate receiving unsolicited mail especially since a > large file and internet time is still expensive here. I think a lot of people in developed countries think that every person on the net pays US$20 for unlimited access. Here in the Philippines I pay ~US$20 for 25 hours and ~US$1.50 for each hour beyond that. My ISP imposes a 2MB limit on my mailbox. Imagine my shock when I learned I had to download 1.8MB worth of messages. - -- [=======================================================================] [ Roberto B. I've received all of his video clips outside of this list. Regardless of what you think about the content of the clips, this fellow is one the first to freely distribute escrima video clips. This is great. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 12:46:18 -0700 (PDT) Subject: eskrima: Khalid vids wrt to Khalid's videos... I have received most (all?) of the ones he sent out unsolicited. I personally didn't mind receiving them. But the points that many others have made are very valid. These are HUGE files and it is a Bozo NoNo to send huge files thru the e-mail to people you don't really even know, especially w/o their prior approval. As we've heard, they have filled up intrays so that additional incoming e-mail would be bounced-back, they have cost people extra connection charge$, etc. In short, the proper thing to do would be to first ask folks if they'd like to have them, as Khalid did in rec.m-a. But then to only send them if that request is actually made. IMHO.
