I've been very excited by the preview of the second Dog Bros. series of videos coming out (the preview is located on Pappy Dog's web site, www.bloodsport.com). Any updates on when they're coming out? My money's burning a hole in my pocket!! Thanks..." Funny you should ask. Actually Salty Dog was scheduled to fly in from Santa Fe today and shoot the Krabi Krabong tape tomorrow, but family matters have intervened and given that this was the only week he open for quite a while due to work pressures the shoot has been postponed probably until , , , I don't know. As for me, I was dialing up to shoot the 7 Ranges and Theory of Chambers tape when I got hit two weeks ago by a mysterious virus/infection that had me at a 102-103 fever for three days, two of which we spent in the hospital. Sickest I've ever been. Apparently my immune system responded very well and I'm training again, but the workouts are still shorter and less intense. I hope to shoot it in 2-3 weeks when full vigor returns. The subsequent tapes will be emitted as they are made. I hope to shoot an additional one before the fall Gathering. As for "The Grandfathers Speak" (which Dog Brothers Martial Arts Association members will be getting for free BTW. Patience friends!) I have finally gotten our originals from Panther Productions (thank you JJ!) and a student who owes me work is allegedly in the process of converting them from beta-cam to DVC (Digital Video Cassette) and next week I will be looking at a used Media 100 Non-linear editing system-- which will allow me to do all projects faster and easier in the future-- if the price is right. Either way, when I have the interviews in DVC format it will be time to do the edit. Probable interviewees: Ben Largusa, Diony Canete, Narrie Babao Sam Tendencia, Angel Cabales, , Edgar Sulite. Some of these interviews are quite in depth and are all "never been seen before" from our archives and there probably will be some others Grandfathers of the Art as well , , , , Guro Inosanto has given me permission to use some very rare footage of these men in action and I have some other footage as well. This tape will be available for sale to the general public. Also, in the next day or two Cindy will have up on our catalog page a tape of the 4 different TV appearances of the Dog Brothers, including the Fox Files piece. The total length of the tape is 18 minutes and will sell for the very reasonable $10 plus the usual S&H and sales tax for CA residents. This footage will be in the DBMAA version of "The Grandfathers Speak", so Ass'n members should not bother buying it. Also keeping me busy is the DBMAA "members only" website which is starting to take off nicely. In the next 10 days we hope to have up the first chapter of Vic Hurley's "Jungle Patrol" and some other things of interest. In the last digest, I asked if anyone can send me some of the videos that had Cabalas and etc. I received about 9 different ones, and they're all GRREAT!! But I won't need anymore so thank you. Also FYI, if you set up a free email account with hotmail, it has a handy feature... It let's you scan attachments through Macafee online, right within your email window...pretty cool. Dr Gyi is returning to Cleveland on July 31st, and August 1st. The Saturday portion will deal with the Bando stick, and the semi-private session on Sunday will focus on Yoga-type exercises done with the help of a staff. Greetings All, Thursday at 11:30AM I signed a contract with the Waltham Athletic Club here in eastern MA to become the new home of Guard Up!, Inc. and the American Martial Way Association.
