Now this is wrong the relief clothing should be given to the Filipino people that are not rich enough to buy clothes. Also I was in Diliman near Quezon City and there is a place i remember well I called it the cardboard city because families would dig holes in the ground and cover themselves over with cardboard. And I remember the children coming up to me and asking for pesos and they were dressed in rags that were not even enough to cover there bodies. I do not believe the aid is getting to the poor in Manila at all, I may be wrong about the aid but the poverty i saw in Manila was a disgrace we should not be allowed to call ourselves human. In the provinces it is a bit better there is still poverty but they have a chance to live off the land and work in the plantations. I just picked one up this past week on vac. but haven't got to try it on the bag yet (she ran to fast!). It is small enough to carry concealed which is why I liked it, but the spring part has me wondering...if I hit something hard enough, does the rebound hit me back? Or are they too weak to block an incoming strike? Anyone on the list have any experience with them? Personally, I have pretty thick skin. But, some people can be deeply offended by inappropiate vocabulary. Imagine if someone started drawing from the bible for their rank structure, and started using the title of "God" in place of Grandmaster, "Jesus" as the #2 man, etc...... Just imagine the furor if "God" got an audience with the Pope. ...Disciples might be cool though :') - -Or how about calling the head of system "The Baddest MFer", and then you could have "mean MFers", "rotten SOBs", etc.... >For example if propaganda has such a bad stigma when used, why is that not in the dictionary. The basic point, that males are hierarchical, is quite sound. I would quibble with the assertion that titles are necessary and proffer BJJ as an example of an art where most simply go by their first name. While I was stationed in south Florida in the early '90s I had the unique opportunity to go 'mano y mano' against a 'Hog' with some of my more Redneck local buddies. I used a 12" blade Double edged dagger designed by the late Al Mar. 8" is the minimum for this type of work to ensure double lung penetration. The technique is something like this: Some scouting and tracking is conducted to locate a good population and Crazed hounds are let loose into the swamp / thickets to locate good pigs. (the dogs apparently disregard smaller aminals and search out the monsters...). We followed at a brisk jog until the hounds had done their work and circled across a large knoll and a stand of trees (flanking) until we were esentially in an ambush position. I was breathing a little heavy from the 'surge' and all of a sudden the brush exploaded in front of me. I thought at first it was a black bear! A huge boar was running straight for me! I stepped off forward at a 45 degree and drew my blade. As the hog flew past I pivoted and began to run along behind it. It was damn fast! I caught up after about 20 yards and lunged as it turned to avoid a deadfall. I landed squarely on its ass end and it turned sharply to the left, throwing me to the ground. It hesitated and turned and I readied myself for it to charge at me, just then one of my buddies leapt out from cover and plunged his blade into it's right side (He used a dagger from EK). The hog took off squeeling with him tightly grabbing it around the neck. It went 30 yards before dropping. My friends called the boar 'puny', it only weighed in at 450 lbs! It seemed to fill the bed of my friends S-10 pick up. Footwork and rapid reaction allowed me to escape being 'bowled over' by this beast, and who knows what else because they are extreamly aggressive when cornered or chased. I plan to attempt this hunt again, this time w/ out the dogs by still hunting a good population. This is truley one of the ultimate challanges. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? What meaning did GM Presas give to the title datu. Did he equate it with mastership? grandmastership? leadership in an organization? I also would like to inquire if he himself passed through the title datu as he went up the ranks. If not, doesn't this make you think why he would give such a title to others while he did not attain or assume the title himself. If he did attain this rank before, then my questions are mote/useless. But if he did not use this, would you think that it might be that the Filipino community that he is in would ridicule him for using such a title. Just some thoughts and no disrespect intended.
