My name is Donna Galster. I am introducing myself to this list. I am a brown stripe in kyukido. Our style consists of a combination of martial arts. tkd, judo, hapkido and weapons training. I know a few of the basics of Arnis but have not had a lesson in a while. I am going to lurk in here and hope to see some interesting discussion. I might pop in and ask questions once in a while. Donna p.s. Hiya Animal!!! - -- NO!! My cycle doesn't leak! Why don't you direct your web server to www.onlist.com, and search for a list called western-arts? Then pose this same question there. I'm sure you'll get an answer. Marc, Could you explain what level of expertise purple belt is in BJJ? How many years experience? What does it take to become the national champ? Is there a tournament circuit or an annual tournament? Why so few Pan AM players? Is it because BJJ is so grueling to practice or compete in later years (no offense)? If it's too off-topic, could I get a pointer to a website with this info via e-mail. I'm curious it sounds like the attendees were mostly, if not all women, and the instructers were anyone qualified in the areas that go under womens self-denfense. Were there any male participents? I know that I'm pretty iliterate in womens self defense and as a martial artist when my friends and family ask me about such things I want to be able to help them or at least point them in the right direction. franz jundis ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Sun, 22 Aug 1999 10:29:53 -0700 (PDT) Subject: eskrima: . ------------------------------ End of Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V6 #348 **************************************** To unsubscribe from this digest, eskrima-digest, send the command: unsubscribe eskrima-digest -or- unsubscribe eskrima-digest your.old@address in the BODY of an email (top line, left justified) addressed to majordomo@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com.
