B,We believe in the Philosophy of our early forefathers,to believe in life not death, to believe in success not failures, to beleive in good health not sickness,we follow every meaning of this philosophy as our daily prayer. C.We, exercise and put to work every meaning of the Philosophy. When we believe in life and not death, we expect that another person should respect that life as he is possessing that life. His daily activity is govern by the power of that life and since he doesn't believe in death then he will treasure that life above other things. D.We believe that respect, concern and care and hospitality is the end results of the great Kali Philosopy. We give respect for those who wants to be respected, we care for those who needs care and we are concern to each one who needs our help and most of all we welcome each one to our home to our country and we try to be hospitable to those who respect us. e.We believe that peace and harmony is the language of the soul. f.We believe that he who shall come to destroy shall himself be destroyed, physically or to dishonor our Philosophy our people and our only asset our name. G. We believe that each person deserves love and respect, honor and dignity and we don't want these to be taken from them.We give it to them and share their happiness. h. We believe that friendship is the fundamental strength of the society and once we establish that friendship it should be kept sacred and preserve with loyalty. We make friendship as the constitution of our social, political and religious influences. I. Dogeaters do not start a fight, we when start we be sure that we finish it anywhere in any part of the world may not be now but till the end of time we will get you. We plant bamboo tree to remind us that someone caused damage to our honor, we only cut the bamboo when we know that our enemy becomes our friend. The Dogeaters are represented by few leaders but it is a very sacred society that members are pick and chosen according to their life's practices, purity in the practice of preservation of life, follow the tenets of discipline. In the Philippines our numbers can be counted when one greets each other with the dogeaters embrace and manifestations of the significant handshake, We have in the US who are by virtue of their character and loyalty are members, their dedications and training are that of the dogeaters. Sooner they will be here in the Philippines to go into the most difficult training in the art of Pekiti-Tirsia. Dogeaters are the most respected among the hinterland people, among the very poor, among the uneducated, among the underpriledged in life. Among the well to do they are respected. Among the rich they love them because they need their protection, among the young people they want to be a part of the discipline to combat against the enemy of life--the drugs and bad habits.Among the women, college girls, high school girls, they are the protector against rape, against child molestations. They protectors of animals and nature. In Europe, we have the chosen ones. They are the dogeaters of the silent majority. Very well respected in business, in law, in art, in banking, in the law enforcement. Dogeaters are legendary. They are here today for tomorrows history. The DOGEATERS >>From: "BILL MCGRATH" Steve Rieter asked Ray if he hated any Pekiti groups. I think Steve misinterpreted Ray's questions about the dog eaters. Ray has always treated me and every Pekiti person I know with respect and courtesy.<<< hi tuhon - first i'm not sure if you remember me from the seminar at dan i's school or not - but we spoke at great lenght - i'm doug m's friend - anyway to the question at hand -- to me it just seemed his comments were a little harsher towards the D.E. - than anyone else has made (at least since i've been on the digest) - this is why i called into question the underlying reasoning - in all fairness and with all do respect to you (and i have immense respect for you and your talents) when i was questioning his likes/dislikes about pekiti, I meant the GT Gaje' faction - since you split PKTI off and basically distanced and disassociated yourself from that group - Ray may have no trouble with the Pekiti International group, however he may (or may not) have a problem with the pekiti global group or for that matter the nene tortal pekiti faction -- anyway - hopefully we can all just move and get along -- steve ------------------------------ From: TCSNo@aol.com Date: Sun, 29 Aug 1999 22:58:29 EDT Subject: eskrima: Silat DeThouars Uncle Bill and Victor consider Maurice DeThouars the head of the family. Paul says he never saw Uncle Bill study martial arts (funny, cause that 64 year old man gave me some nasty black and blue marks the other weekend at a seminar). Penkekar Paul has also kicked out Silat player and former special forces operative Steve Plinck. Burt Richardson, Dan Inosanto, and Cass Magda are no longer listed as Serak/Bukti players. Uncle Bill says that Mas Djut was the only Pendekar, and he is dead. In the meantime, Chas Clements and Steve Gartin hold court on the rec.martial-arts newsgroups. They used to be with Uncle Bill. Boring,...huh? Same politics as any other art, ...wing chun/vingtsun,...carlson/helio, jkd original/concepts. All I know is my shins are banged up, my neck hurts, and my quads are pumped. It was in the nineties in Guru's garage,..I am just starting to get a feel for this Mustika Kwitang. Uncle Bill and Guru Koning call it Djakarta style. They say Djakarta is like Rio de Janeiro with knives. Kind of a fun place.... Way to go Drew ... my point exactly. People here now prize their "attitude" more than their capacity for reasoning, often possessing more of the former than the latter :-) The less "intelligent" people are, the more they prefer the stuff of emotionally-driven actions to well-reasoned/well thought out ones. So, define intelligent? I don't mean intelligence per intellectualism ... I've known some real dim bulbs who had high standing in rare intellectual qualifications like theoretical computer science and logic programming who couldn't figure out how to keep from getting speeding tickets ... more gadgets? Duh-h-h-h, how'bout pedal off the metal? OTOH I've know street dudes who had relatively "high" ethical standards that they would never sway from ... their "code" of behavior which often kept them well inside the 10 commandment mindset :-) One of the simplest element sof this was/is "What goes around comes around." More people these days reflect what has been observed about murderers ... out of touch with the experience of the victim ... and out of touch with their own potentials for experiencing pain and/or injury. As soon as the tables get turned they squeal, you know like "Judge and jury don't kill me, I'm really not a bad person!" One of the most sobering thoughts to have as we progress in training may be that what we are training to do to someone else, someone else can do to us. In fact, in my own training I think that this awareness makes me do better. I know that there are a lot of people out there who could kick my duff, so I work harder. Not interested in hurting anyone in any way ... however ... there are times when we need that bag of tricks. To drive this point home to my son I showed him a clip from one of Datu's tapes with an interview of GT Leo Gaje. He spoke on respect and how sometimes the other guy's awareness that we have a sword may be the only thing that inspires him to respect us. Some people will not respect anyone any other way, but once they're in touch with what can happen to them if they behave in ways that involve disrespect their behavior can change (or they degenerate into a more disrespectful beast, or they don't get very far, eh? :-) Some who are out of touch will do things without thinking and start a fight. A guy on the D.C. street once told me "Anybody that starts a fight deserves to get shot." Street code, eh? Sounded like that guy had the belief that fighting was not something to glorify or go into without hesitation ... and that anyone who couldn't control their stuff and quell their aggresion should be "taken out" of the game ... like, learn to resolve things reasonably if at all possible ... flip side is don't go to that bar :-) What goes around comes around, nothing new about that and no one can change or escape ths universal machine of the Law of Action ... in Sanskrit it's Karma/Vipaka (action/fruit of action). OK, it's theater time ... out to celebrate 16th anniversary with the wife. Y'all be well nah, y'hear? Mik ------------------------------ From: "G.
