Donn Draeger's Weapons And Fighting Arts Of Indonesia back in print - for anyone who hasn't read it, it is a great snapshot of the practice of Pencak, Pukulan and especially of Kuntao in Indonesia back in the sixties/seventies as well as some fascinating insights in the fighting arts of the native peoples beyond java/sumatra, like the Batak. I've seen this made with sea shells too. An even cheaper way is to put a bit of gravel in the middle of a sheet of paper. Wrap with rubber bands and use scissors to cut a "tail" to simulate feathers. Doesn't last too long, but it's easy to make lots of them. Sovann NW Karate for Christ ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. They are made from 12oz. cotton in black with red trim. Either sleeveless or raglan style vests. I have purchased 7 sets from him over the past few weeks and can attest to their quality. he can be reached at West Running Brook Martial Arts Supplies in York, Maine @ 207-439-8301 or e-mail at troz@ime.net ------------------------------ From: Bladewerks@aol.com Date: Fri, 22 Oct 1999 17:10:47 EDT Subject: eskrima: Thailand volley ball Interesting post about the hacky sack.It remeined me of a game I seen briefly shown on CNN a few years ago in Thailand,It was the same rules as volley ball but with the BIG differance of not being able to touch the ball with your hands! Feet only! You should have seen the speed and acurracy of these guys. The word "Flexibility" does not even partially describe them.It was as if they were dislocated at the hips or something. Not for me but it was VERY immpressive.
