I will check on the details on the sword attack when I get back. In the meantime, can anyone on the list can get access to a local paper from the city in which the attack took place? I would think this would have the best follow up information. Are the people who were hurt okay? There has been no great ammount of information as it might predjudice a fair trial. Surgeons say it was the worst wounds hed seen. Apparently he sliced through one guys face, one side to the other...through the teeth etc The off duty policeman's stories will resurface as he used the pipe from the organ to disarm the guy It will lead to legislation about display swords. The guy was scottish, living in South London and was married with a child not far away with no particular history of violence. Pat Aberdeen Martial Arts Group The other thing to surface with this unfortunate event was that the guy was looking for information on Silat via the internet, having emailed various boards, people etc. Good job for us he didn't have any training in it as we all know that although an untrained person is deadly (as was proved) a trained person is even more of a nightmare. Let's just hope that things don't tighten up here any further and that the victims recover soon. Realize that if someone can express something with logic supporting it, their viewpoint is just as valid as anyone else's. Analyzing points of an arguement and presenting counterpoints (again, backed up with logic) is generally how one remains credible in a forum such as this. It's when someone says "This is this!" and someone else says "But point 1, point 2, point 3," and the reply is "NO, this is this!" with no counter discussion following that folks seem to get frustrated - -- IMHO, anyway.
