I did give a book on teaching martial arts to one of the lower ranks than me and I plan on doing a little baking. (cheesecakes) to give to my two instructors and my favorite of the students, 3D. 3D is one of the best buddies I've got. He tells it like it is even if I do not like it but it makes sense and I do not smart back to him on it. As far as a book on teaching martial arts. I recieved a full time position this past week that I hope I can fullfill. My thursday instructor is having problems and cannot do this right now so the job passed down to me. This student I gave the book to is a great help. Teenager, but very smart and philosophical. Between the two of us we come up with some great stuff to do. I told him I plan on letting him lead class too so he get the confidence and experience. When he first came to us he barely would say "peep" now I see he is just a shy softspken man who is slowly losing the shyness. He will do well in the future I think. Remember self defense behind the wheel is just as important , the drunk idiots won't be looking out for you. If your going to drink don't drive. Give the LEO's and the rest of us a break. And remember the toys for tots guys, some kids got it rough, a toy for Christmas sure helps. He has a very simple workable system that is markedly differetn fromthe standard DP. He reputedly beat nine men armed with machetes by disarming one and then killing all of them with the weapon. He did end up in the ICU as a result, but he was the only one who lived to tell the tale. Doesn't Dr. Maung Gyi have something like 100+ hand to hand experiences?? I would guess his DOUBLE PhD. and years in the ring, jungle, and growing up in a Burmese tribe would certainly qualify him as a awsome fighter/communicator. In my job at the library I was skimming through the Nov.4 issue of Panorama (an Itallian news magazine) and came across an article on free-fighting. There were some pictures from "Fight Club" and some more from an Itallian mixed-style school, but then I spotted it on page 267 - several paragraphs describing the Dog Brothers (!) including their quote about higher conciousness (with mention it is a "marichio registarato" ;). Sorry I can't tell y'all too much more, but I can't read Itallian. Maybe someone else?
