Siniwali is a specific method/style of double stick fighting from centeral Luzon. Also called Macabebe style, Macabebe being a town in central Luzon. Other methods of double stick exist in other regions of the Philippines, but do not stem from siniwali. >> Yeah Vince! My understanding is that the literal translation of siniwali is "to weave" and as such is likely a generic term and is not style specific. ------------------------------ From: Chad Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2000 10:23:56 -0800 (PST) Subject: eskrima: Web site updated Just wanted to let everyone know that the web site is updated. wwwhelper.com/sigarta ,(there is no . between www and helper) sign the guestbook and have fun. When you engage a stranger in conversation you have no idea what you are going to say one minute before the conversation.Stick fighting is the same way.Following this same analogy there are differant things to say to someone in all the ranges of stickfighting. There is a Long range "conversation" with your opponent long before the ability to strike or engage him arises. You can learn to subtlely converse your opponent into a lull (this is often the combination of footwork and fluid stickwork among many other things) or what some might call mizmerize him into a false since of security ,all the while setting up his demize.Anyone who has been on the other end of Top Dog's gaze should be able to testify to that. There is far more to it than this but I cant do it justice with words.
