It seems to tie very well with Crossada. Is Crossada also another whole style/system?? Id like to know. I carried the 3.25 inch Emerson folder for several years and found it to be a dependable blade. It's got a thin cross-section that allows for low profile carry, though that profile left it feeling boxy in my hand. Other complaints include the fact that the clip is on the blade end of the handle and felt in the way there, and esthetically I'm not much a fan of blades that are only beveled on one side. However, I used it hard for a couple years and it stood up well. I currently carry a Cold Steel Voyager and like it a lot. It's got a thicker cross-section than the Emerson and hence is not as concealable. The big plastic clip with "Cold Steel" embossed on it doesn't help matters any. Indeed, the first time I saw that clip and the asymmetric handle I thought the knife was too ugly to own. It has since grown on me. I've used it daily for a couple of months and it has held up well. Moreover, it is the first folder that I could cut a free hanging piece of 1/2 inch gold line with right out of the box. What knife's lock failed on you? Neither of the ones I've mentioned have closed unexpectedly on me, though I could see how an odd grip could put pressure on the lock. Is there a folder people should avoid? Regards, Buz Grover ------------------------------ From: pnn Date: Mon, 07 Feb 2000 00:59:25 -0600 Subject: eskrima: Knives and FMA in Michgan?? Hey, My choice for a small locking folder is the Spyderco Delica. The new ones have a 3" blade, a metal clip, and comes with plastic or stainless handles. A smaller knife (2" blade) I like is the Experimental by Spyderco. It has slotted anodized aluminum handles with a nice handle design. The same knife is available with plastic sides, but it is called the Navigator. I think that these knives were designed for carry on luggage. I was also wondering if anyone knew of a good FMA/JKD place near Novi, Michigan. (I will be moving soon.) I have looked some stuff up, but I would like to hear some opinions. Thanks.
