John, "IMHO" is an acronym for "in my humble opinion." I've also seen variations like "IMVHO" (very humble). I don't think this is a Yankee thing ... I think it's just an internet thing ... rather like emoticons :-) and LOL (laughing out loud), ROFLMAO (rolling on floor laughing my ass off) etc. Later, Mike - -- Great works are performed not by strength, but perseverance. -- Samuel Johnson __________________________________________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Get your FREE Internet Access and Email at http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html ------------------------------ From: KaliSilat1@aol.com Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2000 00:37:24 EST Subject: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V7 #83 Hello all. This is my first post to this interesting digest. Could someone tell me of any Inosanto instructors in the chicago land area or neighborhood suburbs. I am interested in training with a certified instructor for long term. I have been to many Guro Dan Inosanto, seminars and have been impressed every time. I would appreciate any help from anybody. It is not very likely to assume that if there is escalation to drawing a knife that there is much control or reason left in a situation. Circular/lateral/triangular footwork and evasion keep you defensively or offensively mobile. Until we get eyes on the back of our heads retreat (run backwards) is not a very safe option. Further, retreat is another giveaway that one does not have the situation in hand. This thread prematurely assumes victory and then having to do legal defense of ones position. When you think too many moves ahead in chess you usually loose. Regards, Carlton H. Fung, D.D.S. Redondo Beach, Ca. - ----- Original Message ----- > put my money on the knife. If despite their best efforts, things still go sideways then they are supposed to fight for you, but only to protect your interests. Still, I want a lawyer that will win by being as nasty and viscious as it takes. >So in a nut shell if can or do kick butt, make sure your Lawyer can kick butt, so you don't get it in the.......So best not to kick butt unless you really have too!
