(though I believe it was originally released under a different title). In this movie, a photographer gets caught up in some really nasty business. He sees a knife fight in an alley that is over so quick it's hard to see what happened. Later, the guy who won this fight ends up training the photographer in some basic knife fighting. It turns out this guy is a special ops guy called a "Per-Sev" (which stands for "perforate and sever"). Not only are some of the fight scenes really good, some of the training scenes are really good (i.e.: sparring with burning incense sticks ... you know exactly when you've been "cut"). I've been looking all around the net, just not sure what to really look for, everyone at my school has diffrent stuff, so that isnt really a help. thanks for your time.(sorry the questions kind of open ended and vague, feel free to email me,if you wont wish to bother other people :) And as far as fight scenes, I really enjoy ones with fights that utilize/incorperate odd weapons, like Rapid Fire(brandon lee) almost any jacki chan in the last couple years, or my favorite low budget/campy M/A film. "Drive" with Mark Dacascos (who some one should really give a good movie to, when given the chance he's just excellent to watch, and he has the only capoeira movie ive ever seen "Only the Strong". ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ From: Roan Kalani Grimm Date: Fri, 18 Feb 2000 11:54:30 -0700 Subject: eskrima: Favorite fight scene I second Alain's nomination for the fight scenes from "The Warriors". I'd also like to put in my nomination for fight scenes from the following movies: The barroom scene from "Out for Justice" The barroom scene from "Once Were Warriors" The final knife fight scene from "Exposure" Most of the fight scenes in "Above the Law" plus many of Wesley Snipes' fight scenes. A Howl of Greeting to All: I hope everyone is sitting down because I have a shocking announcement and I wouldn't want anyone to faint and hit their head. The first video of the second series (to be known as the DBMA series) is done and ready for sale! DBMA #1 is titled "The Grandfathers Speak" and features never-before seen interviews of Manong Sam Tendencia plus action footage, GM Angel Cabales plus action footage, Guro Narrie Babao, GM Diony Canete, plus action footage, GM Ben Largusa plus action footage of the legendary Floro Villabrille (!), action footage of PG Edgar Sulite, a rare interview of GT Leo Gaje plus action footage from the 1989 in Tennessee and from 1997 in the Philippines, the main fight scene of Guro Inosanto as the villain in "The Chinese Stuntman" and action footage of Manong Juanito LaCoste. Regarding the last, this is what hooked me on the FMA. Attention sensitive people: The reason these Grandfathers are in the tape and not others is very simple: this is the professional quality footage we have. The there is no inference of relative prestige amongst them or in relation to others. The length of the video is approximately 55 minutes. The price is $30 plus the usual S&H. VP Cindy will have this up on our catalog page in the next few days. The second tape, "A Gathering of the Pack" has begun editing and will be an action only tape. The instructional material will begin with tape three. Woof, Guro Crafty Dog Brothers Martial Arts PS: Thanks to Guro Inosanto for the footage of Manong Tendencia, GM Cabales, GM Villabrille, and Manong LaCoste. And thanks to Nick "Pappy Dog" Papadakis (a.k.a. Kombat Instruments Ltd or KIL for short) for a fine job on the edit. ------------------------------ From: "William T.
