The Eskrima they learned had a huge influence on the awesome demo team they had back then. Later, Suro had Jimmy Tacosa and Jeff Elliott take over most of the Instruction. You can still find these schools practicing and teaching what was taught to them way back when today even though the three Tae Kwon Do Masters split ways. I'm pretty sure that Ed Fong took it the furthest in his schools and I was lucky enough to have helped teach many a lesson at his schools. - -- Steve Klement Inayan School of Eskrima inayan@mindspring.com www.shoponthenet.com/Inayan From: Ray Terry Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2000 17:24:02 PST Subject: eskrima: Ernie Sr. > Modern Arnis and Ernie Reyes, Sr. The film centers around Datu Inocalla, > whos name is "Pinoy", who travels from the Philippines to America in > search of the truth. And *normal* people recognize the inherient flaw of the premise behind the logic. However, to the people who think that way, it makes perfect sense. Lauderdale. Most of the gang down here is pretty informal as far as regular classes. Try GatPuno@aol.com That is Abundio Baet. He has the most students spread between me in Davie, and South Miami area. You could probably train with one of his gang. His art is incredible, stick, blade, and grappling. My schedule is so hectic, I could not do justice to promising you a specific date and time. If Al Sardinas is listening, he keeps a list. Also there is a commercial school on Hallandale and I-95. Richard Hernandez is a Prof. Visitacion student with recent videos from Paladin Press. He does Arnis Kuntao and is a "best bet" in south Florida. My own silat instructor has a schedule more irregular than mine. He is tough to get in touch with. Unfortunately, he only teaches one day a week for an hour. I'm really enjoying studying PTK, however I'd like to fit in some more training. There is a San Miguel Eskrima class on Saturday mornings which would fit in well with my workout schedule - I'm wondering whether it would be to my disadvantage to train in both styles. Are they too dissimilar that it would become confusing, or are they close enough in style that they might complement one another? Thanks very much, Stuart ps, Tuhon Bill - I hope the e-ad in my sig file is okay with you. Just want to spread the word. It sucks all these great MAists are passing away in their prime (PG Edgar Sulite, Guro Ted Lucaylucay, Terry Gibson come to mind, and Prof. Vee too).
