For further info on Visayan Eskrima and In Motion call (510) 527-1760 or http://www.stillnessinmotion.com The cost is $65 dollars. He is one of the best knife and blade fighters I've seen. His two person angling and footwork drills are innovative and effective in teaching a variety of distinctions and attributes to practitioners especially in the areas of maintaining spatial superiority while both practitioners are moving. His system also has many unique warm up and stretching exercises that can open up new ways of moving and developing power for empty hand, stick, and blade application. Sonny also teaches multiple applications for tall his drills and warms ups. As someone who has consistently cross trained for 11 years, I look for distinctions in various teaching methodologies that give better access to certain skill sets and ability. Not withstanding the unique abilities of practitioners and instructors, it is the training method that provides the structures for students to develop in. The areas that I measure the competence of a system are: knowledge base (distinctions and attributes taught in a system), methods and process of transfer (one to one, seminar style, team learning), structures for development (practice drills & sequence of introduction), and intent of the system and its training methods (for the practitioners, instructors, community, and world). I highly recommend this seminar.
