Nice places to visit, like knife or MA shops, friendly > places to meet or train, etc. Paragon Sports at 18th & Broadway has a large selection of factory and custom knives, as well as a *huge* selection of other outdoor gear--unfortunately all at full retail price, but worth a visit just to look. Mr. Babao is an Arnis/Kali man, and did win the first full-contact weapons competition in the US back in the late '70's or early '80's. This was a competition that pitted weapons from all disciplines, (Okinawan, Japanese, Filipino) and Mr. Babao came out on top. Besides, I have heard from people that know him that he is an excellent martial artist, and a consummate gentleman. Try looking him up, from what I hear you won't be disappointed. Kim ------------------------------ From: Saturbo@aol.com Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 23:11:47 EDT Subject: eskrima: FYI Sultan Uddin I don't know much about Guro Sultan Uddin, all I know is that he is a master graduate from the Cabales Serrada Escrima Academy under Angel Cabales. Back then, he was known as Kimball Joyce. According to my father, Serrada master graduate Ron Saturno, Sr, he was very fast, and very good back then, and I suppose he has gotten even better with time. His FMA lineage is certainly legitimate, I think it's a little rude to question his non-FMA credentials in the manner you have chosen to. Don't you think? R.
