The Texas Clan is staying home this time around but are with you in spirit. I am recovering from a hairline fracture in my clavicle and a grade 2 seperated shoulder. I am also hosting a Carlos Machado Seminar this weekend (its full BTW), so I will still be enjoying myself yes I am still grappling:) Woof! Alvis W. Solis Hound Dog! At one time, we had 9 different drills, but I have since cut them back and combined some into a fewer number. Every system will be different. Also, I've made up a few myself. It is not difficult to do, as long as you know what you want to focus on. I think that is pretty common among instructors, so don't look for a set number. Steve Steven C. All too often anymore genuine humbleness is a rare find in the arts, and to me, humility is the true sign of mastery. It shows that the person has confidence in his/her ability and knowledge, and can appreciate a different POV without feeling threatened. I would like to hear more about Kali Illustrisimo however. But back to your question, I did not question his FMA, I merely asked where he was a professor and from where he was awarded his doctoral degree. You and others seem very forthcoming with information--sometimes bordering on propaganda--about his martial credentials so why all the secrecy about his academic bona fides? Jerry _ >> A legitimate question there, Jerry. I am curious, too, about Mr. Uddin's academic credentials (and I'm a Serrada guy). How about it? Specificly the ones that are repetitive of the same movements on both sides i.e. Hubud,Sumbrada, ect.of corse these have variations. Also if you would, how many can you think of that flow but not nesicerily the same on both sides, like Palisut ect. I was just wondering how many Flow drills there where that fit that discription. Thanks for your help Barry >> Good question, Barry, but difficult to answer, because flow drills, like Sinawali drills, tend to allow the player(s) to come up with their own patterns once the concept of flow is understood. I understand what you are asking, and wish I could help, but am limited in my understanding of the various Filipino dialects. However, we use such flow drills as knife tapping, sumbrada, sinalwali, and the beginning stages of lock and block. I've attended more than a few Inosanto seminars, and he seems to excel at flow drills with a blade. These blade drills also readily translate to drills done empty hand, so serve a twofold purpose.
