Just don't whack my hands again allright. As far as the movie Gladiator I loved it. I saw it twice on it's opening weekend. Great fight scenes and an awesome story. Maximus was the man. I love that scene where he takes on 5 guys single handed. I especially like the double sword bit at the end of that. Does anyone know who the fight coordinator was on the film? He did a great job. I strongly suggest that you go see it if you haven't already.See you all around. I'm going to be moving into university halls next year and my future flatmates have taken a vote against me bringing my big sword which hangs on my wall, saying that it's illegal. I really don't give a f*** what they think, but I'd like to know my legal position with regards to owning it. To get it all I did was walk into a shop and hand over a bit of cash. So surely it can't be illegal? I had been involved in various arts, notably judo, Goju-Ryu karate, and boxing for some time, but was getting a bit frustrated in my search for the art that "suited my soul." I related my frustrations to my good friend Alan McLuckie, and he brought me over to his house and showed me an old 8 mm film of Dan Inosanto...it blew me away. I told Al at that time that unless I could find a good FMA school, I would consider quitting martial arts altogether. Al then introduced me to Gary Bowldes, a friend of his that taught Inayan Eskrima in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I have been hooked ever since. Al and several of my friends from this area moved to CA in 1978 and studied with Mike Inay for several years before returning to Fort Wayne to spread Suro's art, and I have been a Serrada man ever since...I have had the opportunity since then to study several different arts, but have remained loyal to Serrada, simply because it suits me and my needs. Through my work in corrections, a viable means of self-defense is a necessity, and Suro Inay's art never failed me when I needed it. One of the high points in my martial arts life was getting to meet Suro Inay and telling him personally that his art had served me very well in the real-life situations when I had to call upon it. Thanks, Mike... In germany you can carry a folding knife or a spring knife, if its blade is not longer than 9 cm. Sorry about my bad english, have a nice trip to europe!
