This is actually a response through "262, I haven't recieved #261 yet(sometimes I get some post before the prior one, why, Ray?) I think there were some other q's on 261, but I'll wait till I get it. On Stuart, at 39 with only a few years with us I've seen him put the a** kicking on many almost half his age fighters including James and myself. Stuart in my eyes is a 20 year old fighter. The only thing "old" about him is his healing factor. BTW, Stuart is probably one of the most scary people to close on that I have fought. You will be sure to run into him.....and then his stick. I have also heard numerous clubs saying "full-contact" yet not mention (with padded sticks) or (pre-set drills). When we say full contact stickfighting in Hawaii-the description is on the web site. If we are not going all out, we won't say full contact stickfighting. We have had people laugh when they watch us fight(because it ain't traditional) only to say "Oh, so that's what it's like" after they actually do it. I know there are guys out there that can attest to our "balls to the wall" in full contact here on the digest. Our group is the only group in Hawaii, that I know of, that currently does this type of full contact sparring the way we do it, on a regular basis. And I do mean regular. ===== Check out our web page at http://www.fullcontacthi.com and visit Chad's Corner-Full Contact Stickfighting in Hawaii. Here is a bold statement...Full contact sparring what's the point? Full contact sparring helps you be a better fighter no more than learning an FMA triangle footwork pattern. Many people miss the point of NHB/full contact/real contact etc... These are a piece of the puzzle and not a critical one either. Those who think it is are uninformed or diluding themselves. The late Pendekar Herman Suwanda always said..." Fighting is cheating". Think about what this means and the reality of my post becomes crystal clear. Regards, Carlton H. Fung,D.D.S.
