(First incarnation, Ana came out in several shows subsequently) When I blew out my back (three or four months into the show) Kim Atienza took over my slot. (The whole thing was cancelled after 6 months or so, never really followed) Show was every weekday at 5:30pm, can't remember which channel.(four I think) Never got to actually watch the show on the air as I was still doing very long days at work, but we taped 5 daily episodes at the La Suerte Compound every Saturday afternoon till evening. I was the obnoxious white male host (Kastila) who took care of weight training and martial arts problems. Tim, You wrote, << I have just caught up on the digests that I have missed. Let me start out by saying I have not agreed with every decision that he has made over the years, but I find it hard to swallow that he would hand out a 5th to a man with only 3 month's of training. GP. But Tim, He did. I am one only of the several people knows this. Not to mention the three months is with me not with Remy okay? I would say five to six day with Remys Seminar. >>I am not calling Guro Abon a liar, but I have a hard time believing that those are all the facts. GP. Tim you just did, even you don't put it in word. I am not offended. >>Even if it was true, this would not be the first grandmaster to promote somebody above their ability. GP. I agree with you. Why don't you ask Professor why he did this and also ask to the several high ranking blackbelt that was present on the 1993 Massachusetts Summer Camp? >>It's easy to make decisions when you hear one side of the story. And no matter how good someone can be, another person can always point a finger and make false allegations. GP. I admire your courage Tim. But this is not allegation, this is what happen. >>If Professor Presas had the time to baby sit the digest for any accusations made about him, he would be able to defend himself. But as we all know, who have had the opportunity to see his schedule. GP. We dont make accusations we are stating the facts. Sorry, if the truth has to come out. >> Professor does more seminars than anyone else in the martial arts field. If you question that fact, check the Can-Am website at the bottom of this letter. People change as the years go on, and as I have seen Professor, his standards have increased over the years. GP. May be this is his main purpose, promote as much as he can so he would be set for the whole of his life Seminar. May be, may be not only could answer this. >> Maybe at the time, he was a little easier with the way he gave out his belts. Whether this be the case or not, your story is seven years old. How accurate is the picture you are painting? GP. The picture are crystal clear, Adam Castillo is walking around over here in Miami giving business card that he is Fifth degree and now Six degree blackbelt under Remy Presas. Remy Presas dont have a formal school of Modern Arnis here in Miami all of a sudden here is Adam, out of no where Fifth and Sixth Degree almost overnights. >> I am not trying to pick a fight, but why did you pick now to bring up such an old story? GP. Well, I am not asking for you to fight me. But if you do, I would like you to think about it. I open this up to ask question to the other Modern Arnis out there how many Blackbelt under Remy has the same story like Adam. Seem to me even you are lost track of the Ranking style of Modern Arnis. Tell me When Modern Arnis become official Modern Arnis in the Philippines promoted by both brothers Remy and Ernesto. Who and who are the Highest blackbelt in Modern Arnis before Remy, left Philippines for the US? Where is Remy's first teaching opportunity in Arnis in the US? Do you think in one organization all of the highest promoter and follower SHOULD know each other atleast the higher Blackbelt? Bruce Chiu here in Orlando cannot answer me who is who in Modern Arnis here in the US. Just question no malice. >>I hope that we can all get on to more productive things on the digest, instead of using this as a place to rind our axes. GP. I think this is productive things, information whose who are eligible to teach the real arts of Remy like I said I respect Remy . Adam can even do the Four Anyo(Four single stick Form) and he is telling people he Sixth Degree black belt are you not ashamed by this fool man. It is disgrace to his arts. Remy is talented instructors and has brilliants ideas how to promote the arts. How many good Apples he has in his baskets. I am not sure if you know what I meant. But anyway I know what you feel I am sorry if I have to this. No mal-intention what so ever.
