I encourage anyone interested in attending the Loreley Camp > or the year 2001 week-long Black Forest Camp to contact Datu Knuttel Hi everybody, indeed it was great fun having Dr. Michael Hume at our Loreley camp. It was nice to make new friends and exchange ideas and techniques. We will hold our 7th Arnis Summercamp in the beautiful blackforest (south of Germany) in summer 2001 (so - long enugh away to plan). It will be held from Monday, the 30th of July to Sunday the 5th of August 2001. The cost will be around 500 - 600 german mark which is right now about 250 to 300 US $. This will include accommodation, food and the training for these 7 days. There will be about 20 to 25 trainings sessions and there are usually 80 to 100 participants. Each session there are 3 - 5 teachers teaching at the same time different subjects so you can pic what interests you. This way, there there will be small groups. If anybody is interested or may think about coming, e-mail me privately, so I can forward more information as soon as they are available. We would be glad to have some visitors from othere parts of the world sharing with us the beautiful experience of our summercamp. First published in 1950, this book is a highly interesting description of Dempsey's, a former bar-room brawler and heavyweight boxing champion, thoughts on fist-fighting and boxing. His explanations of the 'perfect punch' and how to properly get your weight behind your punches were amazingly clear and well thought out. His 'left jolt' vs. the more typical left jab works amazingly well. ." I have been trying to find this book. Who publishes it? In Ned Beaumont's Championship Street Fighting there are many references to it, presumably lot of the advice will be identical (?). "He also makes the claim that the proper punch is performed with the last three kunckles of the fist verses the first two as typically used in the Karate-like styles" Having been taught to punch both ways I have no doubt which I prefer, but let's not start another war...
