William Schultz PCMA/MCAC ------------------------------ From: NYJKDC@aol.com Date: Wed, 20 Sep 2000 22:13:46 EDT Subject: eskrima: Crafty's Moment! Congrats to Crafty, who was introduced before the particpants of the Bando Combat Camp by Dr. Gyi and was praised with kind words from the war master. He even quoted out of his "Bando Manual" regarding the Dog Brothers Pack. "Wearing very little protection, they fight all comers from different systems using chains, long or medium sticks, wooden swords, wooden daggers and nunchakus. I have had the honor to train and watch their fighters several times. You expect to see breaks, cut and bruises on their faces bodies, arms and legs. That's part of their fighting ritual." "During their hard fought matches, when their opponents are hurt or cannot defend themselves, they will stop their attacks. There is no display of anger, rage, fear or arrogance by the participants. They maintain the highest level of self-control and sportmanship. They are the most disciplined and unique group of modern warriors I have had the honor to meet." And he concludes with, "Maybe 50 or 60 years ago I might have joined their pack."--Pretty cool! BTW I was one of the friendly's that killed Marc! Ooops. But he retaliated with a right cross to my cheek as he died. See u at the Gathering! First deep yogic/chi kung breathing for 20 min a day or longer is an aerobic workout. Secondly the Russian weight lifter Alexis only trained with weights once a week, the other times he used deep relaxation and visualization. I don't know if you meditate or not but they have hooked athletes up to ekg, eeg, blood pressure monitors, etc., and had them do a guided visualization of intense work out for 30 min, they got the same neuro muscular reading as if they had physically done the work. They received a phone call from the Post Office asking them to confirm their company postcode. When this is given, they are told that they have become eligible for some gift vouchers for their co-operation and are asked to provide their home address and postcode in order to receive the vouchers. So far 90% of the women who have provided this information have been burgled as it is assumed that their homes are empty during office hours. The police are aware of this scam and the Post Office have confirmed that they are NOT conducting postcode surveys. Also, it has been reported if you receive a telephone call from an individual who identifies himself/herself as being an AT & T Service Technician who is conducting a test on that telephone line, or anyone else who asks you to do the following - DON'T. They will state that to complete the test the recipient should touch nine, zero, the hash (90#) and then hang up. To do this gives full access to your phone line, which allows them to place a long distance international or chat-line call billed to your account. The information which the police have, suggests that many of these calls are emanating from local jails and prisons. The information has been checked out by the police and is correct therefore DO NOT PRESS 90# FOR ANYONE. pat Aberdeen Martial Arts Group ------------------------------ From: Tim Lavoie Date: Thu, 21 Sep 2000 09:06:23 -0500 Subject: eskrima: Re: Clearwater FMA Thanks for the replies, which I've passed on.
