Both are highly recommended and worth the drive if possible. I have a couple occasional training partners and friends who train with Steve Plinck. As I said, well worth it. I had = forgotten the idea of yoga breathing (a.k.a. "breath of fire") and will = be giving it a go in addition to getting in the BJJ rolls that I can. Turning now to other matters, I would again like to solicit everyone's = help concerning the Gathering of the Pack on this Saturday (2 days from now). As noted on the invitation to the Gathering of the Pack, it is a = good trick holding such an event in a public park. We have been at the = current location for 10 years and have always made sure that the = neighborhood is comfortable with us. In those 10 years there has never = been a complaint to us or to the authorities. =20 This time it appears that there is a problem. I am informed by a Sgt. = Heard of the Hermosa Beach Police Department that one Steve Reiter has = made a complaint to the City Manager Steve Burrell of Hermosa Beach that = an illegal activity (i.e. The Gathering) will be taking place this = Saturday. (Steve is a member of this list and signs his name as "steve = reiter".) I do not know what course of action that the authorities will take. Although he now complains about the Gathering to the authorities, = several years ago steve participated in Gatherings. As those of you on = the list for more than 10 months may remember, steve and I don't get = along too well. I have tried to avoid his repeated efforts at engaging = with me, but he seems determined to not move on and came to the last = Gathering and acted in a way that many observers found disruptive and = disrespectful. It was only after the Gathering was over that I learned = that he had spoken loudly with my wife. As some of you noted, the = invitation to this Gathering noted that it was limited to "friends of = the Dog Brothers only". This change was with steve in mind. As best as I can tell, steve is looking to get at me for whatever = wrongs that he thinks that I have done him by disrupting and shutting = down this event which the rest of the Dog Brothers and I have worked so = hard to build over the last 10 years. That this event is valued as a = research laboratory by many in the Filipino Martial Art community does = not seem to matter to him. That this would ruin the experience for = which people have traveled at great expense after much training from as = far as Switzerland, Canada, New York etc does not seem to be of concern = to him. Thus, what I would like to ask of everyone here on the Digest to try = to persuade him: 1) to not call the authorities or make other problems for the event; 2) to not come. Woof, Crafty Dog Guiding Force of the Dog Brothers - ------------------------------------------------------ And since the phone number I have for him no longer works, I also use = this forum to communicate directly with him as well. steve: Please do not come to the Gathering. To say that it is a public = park and that you have the legal right to be there is beside the point. = You should not come to where you are not wanted anymore than you should = walk up to the picnic of strangers who ask you to leave. The legality = of it all is utterly irrelevant. Do not ever approach my wife again. I = would much rather that you go your way and I go mine. I am sure we both = have more positive things to do with our respective lives.
