I do however make a plea: "c'mon guys let it rest, the Gathering is one of the neatest things to happen in the martial arts world since I have been around, and that is just slightly less than dirt. Cops, lawyers and politicians always ring the death knoll for anything worth while. (If you are in law enforcement please do not be offended by that remark, I am speaking of the bureaucracy, not the people!) Bear ------------------------------ From: "William T. Anderson" Date: Sat, 23 Sep 2000 07:16:15 -0700 Subject: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V7 #443 I will come down from my lurking perch and add the following statement if it is ok. Because of the research that has been done by the Dog Brothers and the participants of the Gathering of the Pack, it has brought the FMA/IMA and arts of Southeast asia to a higher awareness.. People are now more aware of what makes a "Complete" martial artist due to the friendly bouts that Crafty and Sled dog have taken the time to conduct with the Gathering. When I first heard of the "Pack", I was leary of the outcome of what the group was trying to do with the gathering. But with the research and such that they were willing to share with the rest of us, there has been a big vault of knowledge opened to the people of the world who do not have the ability to go to the Philippines and other countries of Southeast Asia to learn these arts. I for one will offer up my support to the Dog Pack and Crafty to continue holding the Gathering as it is a means of being able to learn how to walk the walk on a friendly basis and by continuing to make it by Invitation only. This will offer the practitioners and the guests of the Pack's Gathering to be more aware of what works for them in the world of self defense and Martial arts cross training. Crafty, Keep up doing what you are doing and hopefully one day I can make it to the Gathering .
