First let me say that I am not taking sides in this little spat, I don't know Steve, and Marc has always seemed to be square with me.... But I think it would be very wrong for anyone to try to put a stop to the gathering, even though I have never fought in one, been there done that and moved on!!! Everyone will lose in the end. You see many moons ago we in Michigan tried to get this type of thing going, Since Erwin Balarta, grew up here and was some what of a legend back in the early 80's for his wars with great fighters like Tom Bisio, and many of my eventual playmates once I got older like Pete Canzantta, Dave Robinson, Ray Jay Jenkins, The Harris brothers, ( whom I don't know) but they left their mark!! Any ways after everyone was gone I and a few others back in 88 tried to get a little thing going here, and it always petered out. Then about 6 or 7 years ago myself and a couple of students tried to play in a park and the State police almost arrested us!!! A city cop ( and friend of mine ) got us out of trouble. Any ways not to many places around take to kindly to what Marc has been able to build up, through his hard work, blood and sweat!!!! So lets not let it get torn down. You guys out in CA are lucky to have such an event don't ruin it for others. If you don't like their thing just leave it alone its only one day!!!! As for Marc making money on the event hey !!! more power to him!! But I seriously doubt he makes as much money on it as he would being a Lawyer ( unless he really sucks :- ), which means he probably does it more for the love of it than anything else..... And hey their is nothing wrong with a little personal pr via the digest and the gatherings and what not if your trying to spread your art to others. again I am not taking sides just voicing an opinion, as far as you to boys not getting along, well boys will be boys.
