They are the only ones I have found that can take a beating and keep on ticking. Excelent. I doubt if you can find anything anywhere else. Gee, we have tried everything until I found Edge2. The swords are made of aircraft aluminum which do not chip. They do dent somewhat but a short file job will correct the situation. Yes, they cost me about 70 dollars per sword but well worth it. You can email the guy and tell him what you are looking for. If he does not have it, call him and give him your specifications and he will make it for you. Did that also. Have fun. Please tell me the supplier's web site or address." Are you looking for aluminum swords or steel swords with dull edges? If aluminum try Edges 2. Excellent quality. Go with the micarta handles rather than the paracord. While a light aluminum sword will not be as dangerous as a steel demo sword, any metal blade (even dull) can be very unforgiving when it meets bone. Wear heavy hockey gloves, hard elbow and knee guards, obviously a cup and a good heavyweight saber mask with a good set of goggles under the mask (you'd be surprised how much a fencers mask can deflect with the increased psi of a sword point compared to a stick). A football shoulder pads/chest protector set wouldn't be a bad idea either. It may seem like overkill, but I used to make aluminum swords for my students and was really impressed with what a dull aluminum sword could do to a tree limb. Try not to hit edge to edge when you train even with aluminum swords. You'll wind up with some sharp burrs that can easily tear through skin. Aluminum is also a relatively porous metal and the pores will harbor bacteria. If you get cut by an aluminum sword expect an infection if the wound is not quickly and thoroughly cleaned out. Be warned though if you are looking to spar with steel swords. Even a dull steel sword will still split skin and muscle down to the bone without much effort. If you are going to use a real steel sword (even if dull) then you had better get real steel armor. Try contacting John Clements at H.A.C.A. (Historical Armed Combat Association). He has a great deal of experience sparing with accurate replicas of steel swords and armor of medieval Europe and can tell you more about safety concerns and direct you to supplyers. I know those disqualify you for the military. Of more concern >would be things like invasive surgery to the eye itself especially things >like correction of a detached retina. I don't know how some of these would disqualify you for military service, or any other activity. I had radial keratotomy done on both eyes in 1985 (back when they used a knife!) and since then have been to various eye doctors for check-ups. Not one, repeat not one eye doctor could tell that I had the procedure done. Unless you volunteer the information, the eye normally heals with no scarring and no one can tell that the procedure was done. If any group bars you from participating because of this, just keep it to yourself. There are no medical reasons for it, but only a liability issue, for what Might happen, and Could you blame them, Should anything happen, etc..
