This said, how does Cabales Eskrima differ from Dizon's eskrima. How did this development by Angel take place, did he in fact refine things as he got older, etc.. I'm also curious about the similarities between Cabales Serrada and Estilo de Fondo. A quick review of two recent Tuttle publications shows that the striking systems are almost identical. Thanks. Hi Kendal Coats Gi-Na Dha Li, I was always told scalping began with the French settlers who found Native Americans hair to be of very fine quality, which was used for wig making. This doesn't change the fact that NA's began to scalp their enemies as a response, just a different explanation of where the practice of scalping began. Native Americans are the only ethnic group I know of that most folks still feel free to belittle in such a way. We simply have never been taken seriously by Western society...case in point, the Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins, and Cleveland Indians. How long do you think the Atlanta Kikes, Washington Niggers, or the Cleveland Spics would be tolerated? My apologies to any and all I may have offended with this post; just trying to make a point. How did this > development by Angel take place, did he in fact refine things as he got > older, etc.. We don't know too much about Dizon's eskrima, so it would be difficult to compare them. However, Angel's Serrada clearly did evolve over time. As he got older and weaker from being ill, his stick became shorter and shorter. > I'm also curious about the similarities between Cabales Serrada and Estilo de > Fondo. A quick review of two recent Tuttle publications shows that the > striking systems are almost identical. de Fondo is probably similar to Serrada because GM Giron used to hang around Angel's Stockton Academy where he would have witnessed Serrada in action. Buno seemed to be a particularily brutal form of grappling. The analogy might be empty hands kali is to boxing what buno is to grappling. Pretty brutal and effective. I am aware that Guro Abon is bringing out various materials on this hidden art in order to increase its exposure.
