You should want to be stronger than you look, than look stronger than you are. >> I agreed with almost everything except this...if you think bodybuilders are all show and no go, work out with one; it'll change your mind. The myth that bodybuilder's get their muscle lifting light weight with a lot of reps is one of the lifting world's oldest myths. Muscles must be stressed to grow, and bodybuilder's lift in stages. Most of the year is spent lifting exactly as you described...5 sets of 5-8 reps, basic exercises only, and heavy. I am limited by my body and injuries, but don't mistake that muscle as show on the big guys. Big muscle and increased strength takes hard freakin' work, and nothing less will work. I'm new to the Glendale/Pasadena, California area. If anyone on the list knows, could you email me places/groups that practice FMA around this area? Or, further, the Southern California area? (No need to mention Inosanto Academy. :) ) -- I am first just looking close to where I live. Thank you!
