Menzter and HIT training are mainly interested in building muscle size, whether you get stronger is secondary. With P+T, getting stronger is the main goal, size is secondary. Poliquin has trained many Olympic athletes to gold medals and many professional football + hockey players. Menzter and HIT have trained none. The last thing, if the Russian athletes do not use it, it was for a reason. They dominate the world in weightlifting. The use multiple sets. ------------------------------ From: Ray Langley Date: Mon, 08 Jan 2001 19:49:57 -0800 Subject: eskrima: Thank you, Chad! > > > 4. It seems that much of the Korean and Japanese (as well as mainstream) cane moves are oriented to the "pretzel" moves and takedowns. From a Filipino perspective, we seem to be more concerned with actually whacking the opponent with the damned thing! :-) > > > 5. This old fart isn't > likely going to be "gearing up" anytime soon! Thanks again, Chad. Actually, I may be gearing up in the near future! My Kuntaw-Kali teacher is very interested in introducing the cane as part of his "system". In fact, my last two private lessons have been exclusively devoted to Cane striking moves. It had to do with whether his certificate from the Serrada school was earned with the same amount of years of training that others with the same certificate had completed. I recall seeing something about this issue several years ago on the list I think. God I hope I am not mistaken because I sure don't want to show disrespect to Master Wiley or the Serrada Eskrima practitioners. > From: "L.
