He's a SEAL (great guy BTW) and so some of his people may have the military "sir" thing going-- nothing to do with British royalty at all :-) Yip, Crafty ------------------------------ From: "Johnaleen" Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2001 10:15:07 -0500 Subject: eskrima: re Practice Knife ****Hi Jonaleen, why not just do what everyone else does? Get two identical knives. Keep one for real stuff. Take a file and dull the blade and point of the "practice knife". If you wish, cover the blade with a piece of tape. This way, you have exactly the same feel and balance of the real thing.*Ray Langley***** Thank you Ray but.... well i have not needed a practice knife with tape on it in over 25 years... and the reason i wanted one that is made that way is because they will be used in demo's in public and i would rather use something that is manufactured for the purpose so there is no legal questions... Also they will be used in states that the balisong are illegal... secondly i am the old and decrepit one.. tis not an easy task to file things that are mettle when you have rheumatoid arthritis in your hands and holding a file like that for that long is a stretch for someone that does FMA and the Knife work for the joints in her hands... so the file deal would be hard for me to do and sort of more work then i want to do myself with my hands in my old decrepit state...
