Under men entirely great, the pen is mighter than the sword. That kind of changes the meaning. ------------------------------ From: kalkiusa@netscape.net Date: Mon, 12 Mar 2001 15:30:25 -0500 Subject: eskrima: Feets & Bagwork A little while ago I made this noise . . . > I wrap both hands and feet ... put a few > layers of pre-wrap across the instep and > in figure eights around the feet and ankles. > Then on goes the training shoes/wrestling shoes. Forgot to include "top off the prewrap with coach's tape", then on with the shoes. Otherwise the prewrap can move around, bunch, etc. Also forgot to include knee flex/extend after knee circles after knee "rotations" ... agains with hands on knees. Emphasis is more like trying to repeatedly sit down on the floor, then extend the legs, trunk inclined forward, rest weight on the knees through the hands. No force. I usually prefer to work from the ground up in limbering ... prep ankles and knees before hips, then lumbar spine (circumduction), thoracic spine (rotation), lateral flexion, then flexion/extension of the torso/hips. Simplified sequence. Gotta also do the hands/fingers/wrists, elbows, and shoulders. The greatest assist to myself that these sites provide is the information on ways of realizing my skills. They have numerous manuscripts that I can download and read at my leisure. Many of these are hundred of years old. It gives me a chance to read the advice, instructions, and observations of master swordsmen. Swordsmen from a time when a sword was more then a decoration and fencing was very much necessary weapons training. The choices are many. From civilian to military. English to French. Medieval to renaissance to turn of the century. Sword, dagger, bayonet, pole arms. More drills then one could realize in a lifetime. I for one am very grateful for the effort these sites have made in making this material available to me. ------------------------------ From: "q" Date: Mon, 12 Mar 2001 16:37:47 -0800 Subject: eskrima: DOG BROTHER GATHERING?
