Ray all the digest posts go into a database correct? I know that if you do a search on line lets say on, " Ray Terry" your will most likely find a few listings from the digest to be sure.. each of the letters that your name is attached to will be listed on the find in a search on line... you go to that hyper link and it will take you to the data base for the ED from there you can read all of the digest postings from this site... without a log in or a password... so its very possible that none of the people have had to even be on the list to read the digest... shrug just sort of what kept coming to mind when each pointed the above factor out and asked why.. Ms J...... ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Mon, 02 Apr 2001 22:03:46 PDT Subject: Re: eskrima: Re: ED is databased Excellent point. Yes, Ms J, you are correct. I forgot that we were archived in several places around the www. BTW, I was contacted via email by Adam of the eskrima-arnis forum. He and I will probably have to agree to disagree on some/most things in his email (and he will probably do the same with my reply back), but I'm very glad he stepped forward... much appreciated. What Jeff did in this forum that caused the problem was two long years ago, hopefully he is well over that by now. I know that I am. Hopefully we both learned from that experience have moved well beyond it. In relation to e mails on the Escrima Arnis site previously having discussed this issue, Jeff Finder was never derogatory of you Ray. He kept his comments matter of fact and cleared up some misconceptions. Adam as well. Ray Terry: Actually, this is a public forum, but it is a moderated forum... As long as the other 99% of ya'll are happy. P.S. Thanks for all the private emails. Much appreciated. If you are honest then you have nothing to fear. A thousand messages of good will are great if you are honest and im certainly not making any insinuation otherwise. I have received mails from several people with suggestions of questions to ask and while I understand they may have a reason to feel antagonistic its not my fight. If I have anything to say I will say it. As I said before I am happy to be on this list (over 4 years now) and accept the fact that it is a moderated list and feel better that you have said that whether or not people take it in. The EA forum was great too and I wish them well because they too are doing a great job. Its not competition. They deliver a similar product for a growing market. "Aiki, as in Aiki-JuJutsu?" Its just something I find funny, I have heard several Aiki-Jujitsu teachers using terms like " this is an aiki technique, or aiki throw ect..." in essence pronouncing "this fish gravey throw ect.." the origional Japanese, I'm sure is not so open to interpretation, but I still giggle to myself every time I hear or read it in English. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
