I spanked both their butts, at the same time, and all I had was a short little Serrada stick. The frightening part is... I think they both enjoyed it. :) Ray Terry raymail@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com ------------------------------ From: "Johnaleen" Date: Wed, 4 Apr 2001 11:49:11 -0400 Subject: eskrima: Re: Regino...... Ms J..... bows to the Dog... Crafty" yes your most correct about Regino and Guro Dan Verses Tatang or Antiono Illistrisimo and Ray Galang sometimes my point gets lost in my inability to write clearly at times.. "Tatang" means "grandfather". Tatang studied Arnis under his father, Isidro Illustrisimo. and his 4 uncles.. 2 of them being Melecio & Regino Illustrisimo, His youngest uncle i believe was , Regino Illustrisimo... but i think there were 4 uncles that he learned from... so i.e. you would have seen all of these men in Tatang, as well as others that studied with him or his uncles, or Father.. again..... one day i want to be able to see that slight difference between each of the men forms of this one original Style of Illistrisimo... and sort of the point i was trying to make but... some how managed to look silly instead again... " Grin" this has not been that hard for me at times.... I cant remember the other 2 uncles names though and i don't have time to dig in my notes and archives from when i started learning this style of Kali... But i believe there were 4 of them. I believe as well that his cousin was "Floro Villabrialle " but... this is going by memories of things i read and was things that were told to me over the past 20 years. some of my remembered history goes back 20 years and was told to me in story form when i was first introduced to the art and the culture via marriage and my father in law.. I am too old now, its been way too long to remember all that now without digging in my files.. Do you know what the other 2 Uncles names were ? or anyone else know who they were? Ms J bows deeply... ------------------------------ From: "Keith Hay" Date: Wed, 04 Apr 2001 20:52:52 -0700 Subject: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #161 This note doesn't need to be included in your forum and I promise I won't hold it against "the forum" for not seeing this note included in your list... oh all this "he said-she said" B.S. is tiresome... please cut this thread and get on with more tomahawk references!! I really need to know if a small, 100 year old non-explosive device is really considered a deadly weapon, by certain police departments, even though it can be inserted through someones skull by even the most inept child with decent aim... Sorry, I guess I'm being a little sarcastic. Honestly, I had no idea axe wielding was considered a martial art. Of course, last week when I was walking down the street with my hatchet, some guy jumped out at me and... well, you know the bloody result. In search of Balintawak comments... (great, now I'm going to be considered a "forum basher") :( Keith Hay keith@budgethifi.com P.s. The real reason for this rambling nonsense was to find out how to post on this forum, if I come up with anything interesting to say. Do I merely "reply"? Or is there another email address altogether? Thier movements were probably not similar, despite some of what has been written, because Tatang never learned from Regino. That was mainly hype for a book. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Wed, 04 Apr 2001 19:26:09 PDT Subject: eskrima: . ------------------------------ End of Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #166 **************************************** To unsubscribe from the eskrima-digest send the command: unsubscribe eskrima-digest -or- unsubscribe eskrima-digest your.old@address in the BODY (top line, left justified) of a "plain text" e-mail addressed to majordomo@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com.
