Pete, I could ask you the same thing about Hock's SDMS. How much of the complete 10 level course have you seen that allows you to make a judgment on it? Eli Silva wrote>>> I think the main issue here is that Hock's lack of aknowledgment that the heavy influence of FMA is not only the scouce but also his "discoveries" and "methods" were explored thru FMA, Eli, Actually, I don't think that this is an issue at all. As I mentioned before, Hock clearly lists his credentials on his website, this includes his FMA credentials. As for his "discoveries" and "methods" being eclusively from FMA, I would have to disagree. Hock teaches concepts, drills, and strategies that aren't taught in many FMA schools, if any at all. You also mention that "a hit is a hit". I agree up to a point. However, if I hit you with a bare fist it will be less painful than if I hit you while wearing brass-knuckles. Again, this is all based on common sense combat. If I strike you in the eye it will do more damage than if I strike you in the stomach with the same amount of force. Anyone trained in karate is familiar with the concept of focusing all their strength and power into one point. Ray - ---------------------------------------------------------------- Sir, Just wanted to thankyou for printing that letter about the woman BB who wrote about child molestation in her school. I was one of about 3 boys molested many years ago when I was about 11 and it all sounded the exact same. Campouts, fishing trips and even the part about him wanting to invite my younger brother. Its amasing how easy they gain your trust. He told everyone (and constantly) that he worked for the health department. We all slept together in one big sleeping bag, and naked too. "It was more healthy" he insisted and of course he would know, working with the health department and all. I thought something was wrong when my schoolmates insisted that I sleep next to him, and not them. I awoke many times in the night to find him touching me down below. I remember being embarrased and just rolIed over to get away from him. This is probably more information than you really wanted to know and I appoligise for that. When I objected to my brother coming on the next outing, my mother got very suspicious. She sat me down and asked all the right questions, and got the answers. I can still remember how gently she asked those very personal questions. Lets just say, the FBI got involved and I never had to appear in court. He was sent away to prison for a very long time. Thank God I had no long term effects from this, and turned out just fine. I'm now 46 years old, married and I rarely ever think about it. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Kudos to the woman and her instincts. Please feel free to forward this to the woman or post this if you feel it may help someone in the future.
