I was holding my breath not to comment anymore in this SDMS. I just want to ask a few question, what is the differences of the FMA and the SDMS concept, drills, that HOCK discovered? You said is not taught in FMA, are you familiar in many FMA to assume this? >> Eli, Actually, I don't think that this is an issue at all. As I mentioned before, Hock clearly lists his credentials on his website, this includes his FMA credentials. As for his "discoveries" and "methods" being eclusively from FMA, I would have to disagree. Hock teaches concepts, drills, and strategies that aren't taught in many FMA >>schools, if any at all.. Which strategies are not teach in FMA? could you please elaborate this please? >>You also mention that "a hit is a hit". I agree up to a point. However, if I hit you with a bare fist it will be less painful than if I hit you while wearing brass-knuckles. Again, this is all based on common sense combat. If I strike you in the eye it will do more damage than if I strike you in the stomach with the same amount of force. Anyone trained >>i >> Common sense.. Both of them hurt that why we are not training ourselves to recieved the hit we avoid hit. How good this SDMS? Is this the ultimate? It's sound like that really he created/discovered a new Martial Arts that will conquer the world. I just want to reminds myself to study hard to my home work so If I face one of the SDMS guys I am 101% ready.. Something to look forwards to, meeting someone better and knowledgeable than you are, its time to learn the real deal. I can''t wait to meet one of the you guys SDMS. Is Hock has a seminar near Miami Florida? I want to see this SDMS first hand from the source. We can talk about this system forever but not knowing the system, openly mis-understanding to their point of view, land ack of knowledge to the system can lead to something we dont want to happen. This is just a question, I hope I can see what you can see right now. Okay, I hope you can answer this question sincerely. How much of the complete 10 level course have you seen that allows you to make a judgment on it? Steve where in my post was any judgement? Reread it again there is no judgement made reguarding dos manos just that your comments on other styles use of two handed techniques. For the record i have never seen dos manos at all. my point is simple you made a generalization reguarding other styles use of two handed techniques and their ability to apply it in actual combat. Why? enjoy what you have and realize that many others in other styles can be learning techniques that work with two hands This was my only post on this subject: How many of these tons of styles have you actually seen their complete curriculm on two handed techniques? I think often we including myself lose objectivity through lack of knowlege. I remember studying Triandis in sociology and how there were guidelines to study a culture that didn't allow objectivity to be displaced Best Wishes to all that read my ramblings Pete Sampogna Master of all I Survey Soon to be King of my Dominion ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2001 18:47:14 PDT Subject: eskrima: Shamrock Frank Shamrock Seminar Saturday, May 5, 2001 at 1:00PM Don't miss this chance to train with one of the best NHB fighters at a special four-hour workshop!!! http://www.hyperkinetic.com/shamrock2/index.html Frank Shamrock will cover submission wrestling, stand up fighting and vale tudo training.
