No Fight pala? Rocky, First of all I cannot believed that you are trying everything to turn around and make up this story, if you are talking from soneone in Germany, why post an open challenge, and put it there who ever what to take it, now I take it you are so depensive in words, Okay, I guess there is NO fight so be it, just let me know you dont want trouble with me, I understand, that, your claim skills, is good for Self Defense. Now I let you go, e-mail me privately if you wnat to settle this in friendly way. Again, I dont want to waste from other to read our mail, talk to you later, Do not used bad language, please, "show your mirror image of your instructor" very poor manner. I already know what kind of fighter are you, Okay, train hard, thanks for the compliments and encouragement to the other to take class with me. I hope to see you too in my Seminar one day.. Salamat, Gat Puno Abon "Garimot" Baet Laguna Arnis Federation International US Harimaw Buno Federation Hilot Research Center USA << I was in conversation primarily with someone from Germany who was bashing Remy. Secondly I said Remy has a few fighters and I still stick by that, we have parted ways but I still appreciate his training he gave me. As I stated he has very few traditionally trained students, hence the word Modern in front of his art. This was the debate GM Gat and I had over a year ago. And when reviewing your recent writings I see that in essence you are offering a White Flag, so I will try to end this discussion by saying You Win. I hope your Ego is now satisfied and we can all (really just you and me) move on! BTW, Ray I was thinking of PPV! I feel the cord can be a hinderance more than anything. On my occasions where the baton was needed, it was usually needed instantly without time to wrap the cord around anything. If the baton is drawn in a hurry, your focus should be on the target at hand and your perifial vision should be scanning for new threats. This leaves little time or room for attention to wrap a cord if the baton is drawn for immediately usage. I feel a cord flapping loosely when not in use is a risk to tie itself to other equipment, thereby limiting the use of other tools/weapons if they accidentally become tied up with the baton cord. The cord sticking out on a belted baton also gives a good handle for any combatant that is off to your side and who wants to gain control of you, putting you off balance and at a serious disadvantage. Why give him one up on you? If you are using your strong hand with the baton, would you want to tie it to yourself, in case another strong hand weapon must be drawn if the threat level changes? Having to untie one hand may cost you too much time. In close quarter combat you have very little time to react so why hamper your own reaction time? Obviously you have to weigh your options and make a decision you can live with; my choice was to take it off after trying both options. These comments are really for the immediate deployment of the baton, and your decision to use the cord might change if the baton is often carried in hand or when not under any immediate threat, and with time available to wrap it to your hand. Also, if this is your only wepon available and time permits, it might be a good idea to secure it to yourself with a cord. Different circumstances different options different decisions.... ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Wed, 06 Jun 2001 8:24:59 PDT Subject: eskrima: . ------------------------------ End of Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #256 **************************************** To unsubscribe from the eskrima-digest send the command: unsubscribe eskrima-digest -or- unsubscribe eskrima-digest your.old@address in the BODY (top line, left justified) of a "plain text" e-mail addressed to majordomo@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com.
