Yes this was my question, which I meant quite innocently btw, just looking for something more specific than the following... "This page is dedicated to the Instructors, Masters, Guros, Spiritual Teachers, and to those Special People that in some way have made a positive impact to our Training, Learning or Healing Path. Their names are on this list because they have had a major role in the lives of one or more of the Teachers here with the F.A.T.E. Organization. This area is given in respect to their teachings, wisdom and guidance." >its amazing the stupidity that i have personally witnessed over the years by >young US military men overseas and the terrible reputation that has been >left by some of them in some of the 3rd world country (And from left field... ) Yeah alot of what went or goes on in Olongapo, Manila, Seoul, etc. is apalling. As for me - I have no regrets. I've heard a number of xservicemen claim that they spent a week there one night... :) Ray Terry raymail@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com ------------------------------ From: Taojen1@aol.com Date: Sat, 14 Jul 2001 07:28:13 EDT Subject: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #317 In a message dated 7/13/2001 3:34:34 PM Eastern Daylight Time, eskrima-digest-owner@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com writes: << If you had to choose only one class, I would be tempted to recommend the Hsing-I Ansen Pao two-person fighting form, because it is supposed to be hella dope, and it would be cool to have a form that we could practice together on Sundays. It is also a relatively rare form, typically only shown to advanced Hsing-I students (but don't let this intimidate you). >> Hi all, First I heartily second this opinion (we're having him here in the Boston area as well) but I don't know about An Shen Pao for beginners. Without experience in Hsing-i's five fists and a good understanding of Internal body mechanics it's going to come off like karate. To my mind Bagua is more like the silat (I don't know FMA) I'm learning than Hsing-i. In fact when Pak Vic was here Luo's is the only tape he made positive comments about. One of Luo's application is a carbon copy of Buang 1 from Serak. My .02. On their news segment they ran a blurb that one of the contestants (a guy from NJ) on the TV show "Big Brother 2" was taken off the show. Apparently he pulled a knife on one of the other contestants. In the media in general they are always focusing on guns in schools, or car jackings, or bombs. But this goes to show you that we still need some basic skills/knowledge in what to do when someone pulls a knife.
