Have made inquiries via email, voice and in person of people who either were or are currently involved in the SF community the Dr. Gyi was supposedly do active in. 2) Injuries that I saw on Dr. Gyi could have been 'battle scars' or the result of an accident. Without seeing service medical records I wouldn't hold them at much value. 3) My change of stance is based upon my personal interaction and discussion of Dr. Gyi with a number of people. Up until that point I was a staunch supporter and I felt that some of his old students were just experiencing 'sour grapes'. 4) This is not a witch-hunt by any means. A lot of man-hours have gone into researching Dr. Gyi. Would the information collected hold up in a courtroom? Definitely not. But the information presented has been influential and convincing enough to have investigations initiated. 5) Is this a terrible tragedy for the MA world? Not really. But it is a kick in the nuts to all of the combat decorated vets who earned that distinction through sacrifice and pain. 6) Am I saying that the information that Dr. Gyi presents at his seminars is invalid. Nope. But I'm saying that the source/history of some of the information is severely in question. I will continue to keep abreast of this situation and will be more than happy to pass any pertinent information on to ED members. Michael A. "History is the story written by those who won."' I just wanted to mention that this widely believed statement is not anywhere near as true as some think. For example, after the American Civil War the history of the War was written overwhelmingly by Southern authors (of the Dunning School) who claimed that slavery was a benevolent a good thing, slaves happy and well cared for by their owners, that by abolishing slavery the Union did a disservice to white Southerners, and even more so to black ones, that the War was an unjust act of tyranny by the North against a South that was overwhelmingly in the right, that Reconstruction was a travesty, and that the Confederacy held the high moral ground. The Dunning School was largely unchallenged for over half a century, and some of its claims still persist. Both "Gone with the Wind" and Birth of a Nation" strongly reflect the sentiments on the Dunning School. Also, history focusing on the Native Americans has been highly sympathetic to them for well over three decades, though I suspect that few would claim that the Indians were the winners. These are just a couple of examples of history written in a manner highly sympathetic to the losers. I could give more, but I suspect I made my point here.
