I always work on a 6 foot bag. Sticks bounce off the low end (it's like concrete mon). If I kick it wrong, my instep or shin hurt like H. All I have to do to ensure that the impact will be dispersed is to always settle down on the support leg. Important to remember when fatiguing too, i.e., good technique always. Mitakuye Oyasin. This is absolutely obscene, NOW they charge $499.00. Best wishes, Jamie From: "Anderson" Date: Sat, 11 Aug 2001 12:54:46 +1000 Subject: eskrima: FMA instructors in the U.K. Greetings from Guam, I have a request for information concerning the FMA instructors in the Cambridge or local area of Britain. My son is there currently and is looking for a school to train in.. He has been there for a couple of weeks and is going bonkers looking for off duty activites. He asked me to see if there are any instructors in the Cambridge (RAF Mildenhall area) or RAF Lakenheath area where he can start training again... I know that Pat O'Malley and a couple of other instructors are in the UK, but their specific locations escape me at the time any help would be appreciated Bill Maharlika Kuntao Guam - ------------------------------ ------------------------------ From: "David Eke" Date: Mon, 13 Aug 2001 15:34:43 +1000 Subject: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #355 > From: Patrick Davies > Date: Thu, 9 Aug 2001 15:30:58 +0100 > Subject: eskrima: skippy > > Funny that the first post I receive on my return to the list includes this > David. > > I had always wondered why you seem to be so quick to attack so many. Pat Thank you for YOUR positive contribution All you need is go back over the list and see the number of positive posts I have made. Try a keyword search on Balintawak. If they are negative I'm generally referring to what others have said. Also a common thread in many of my posts is a defense of the INDIGENOUS Filipino Martial Arts. BTY "skippy" is a derogatory term for an Australian, sort of like "wog" or "gook" (but then I guess you know that) One of the things which has remained constant about the list (thanks Ray) is the opportunity to express an opinion freely which is contrary to others. As to my post I stand by it, go through the last ten digests and count the number of posts that are directly related to the FMA taking out ads for seminars, not very many. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Mon, 13 Aug 2001 8:04:49 PDT Subject: eskrima: . ------------------------------ End of Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #359 **************************************** To unsubscribe from the eskrima-digest send the command: unsubscribe eskrima-digest -or- unsubscribe eskrima-digest your.old@address in the BODY (top line, left justified) of a "plain text" e-mail addressed to majordomo@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com.
