Many people have technique, others have timing, others balance. Some have two of the three, a few have all three. To train with someone, who has all three, cannot have a price tag on it. It allows you to learn so much, even in 8 days. (* Not to be a master, but to learn *) Now, to the history - 'Bound To Empire' - by H.W. Brands, is about the U.S and the Phillipines. It can be dry, but I believe it has an interesting point of view and take on history. ISBN - 0-19-507104-2 Thanks Rich __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Remy, was born Dec 19th 1936. In Hingaran (sp) Negros (sp) Occidental. His father was Jose and moth Luica. He was quite the little porker too at 8 lbs. I have a real nice article I am putting together for BB Magazine I'll let you read soon, it is sure to make some noise since it is about his early students who were 4th 5th and 6th degrees back in the late sixties and early 70s back when I was just a kid and you were just turning Grey Ray :-) Rocky While I am at it I have not been keeping up with the ED much lately, but it seems like so many people on this list just wait to pounce on anyone for any little indiscretions or mistake or because the history that they were told isn't what someone else says it is. I bring this up because of the beating it seems Buzz Smith took simply for posting his version of the history of his art as given to him by his instructor, at least that was the impression I got from what I read. History is usually in the mind of the beholder. I am not close to Buzz, I met him when I was about 16 he already had about 10 or 15 years in the FMA's and was a really nice guy. In Michigan he has a good reputation in the point fighting game, not my preferred aspect of Martial arts, but none the less he has a very good reputation always treats people with respect and doesn't deserve to be ripped apart just so others can feel important. Its amazing how here in the United States you can't hardly get 2 people to agree on events that occurred in the last 10 years. But people who aren't even Filipino know everything about events that took place 100 years ago in a country whose own people don't always have a good grasp of what happened. Hell look at Modern Arnis or Balintawak they aren't even 100 years old and everyone has a different story. Anyways my Kuntao instructor Master Lou Ramirez told me when I asked him where his style of Kuntao, ( a soft circular method similar to Ba Gua (sp) ) he simply said, from someone a lot better than he was!!!
