My prayers go out to his immediate and extended family. I'm sure this will be very hard on GM Cacoy. It was just about 3 years ago that Cacoy's wife of 50+ years, Hermenia, passed on. Very sad times for the Canete's... Do you have any information about this divorce of the European "Making a lot of money with Martial Arts Franchising" Organization? > CU > Michael Greetings, I had heard some information about this when I was talking to a buddy about Emin Boztepe's recent problems with the EWTO. Latosa posted a resignation notice on Sifu Boztepe's site if you'd like to see it: http://www.wingtsun.net/ It's sad to see that problems like this are all too common in the MA industry. Yes, he did. Also Latosa has started calling himself GGM Latosa, for Great Grand Master. lol CB ------------------------------ From: "Reekers" Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2001 17:41:45 -0700 Subject: eskrima: Thrusting Mechanics [Buz writes: "Indeed, I think one of the things missing from this discussion [blood groves] is what you do with a blade once it's stuck in a target."] The blood groove versus the fuller is an interesting discussion, but your right, I've always considered it a mute issue when it comes to thrusting mechanics. We are taught four "basic" ways of delivering a thrust. 1. In and Out - This can be done many times within a small area or many times within a large area or simply once and run. 2. Pumping - This is much like using an old water pump, the action is the same. 3. Reaming - The thrust is delivered and then cork-screwed inside the wound. 4. Ripping - The thrust is delivered, the knife is then angled and pulled. There are many factors that determined whether you use these techniques or not. i.e....location of thrust, enemy resilience, type of knife..etc... But in all honesty, thank God I've never been forced to "experiment" with any of these techniques.
