Most of what I have has already been posted on ED or sent to me by ED members, so you will be familiar with most of what is there already. If you would like to make a contribution, please check the page first to be sure it is not already up. I would like to keep the page martial art or current events related and rated "PG". One video clip I am missing is the guy getting kicked by the horse, if someone could send that to me. But the top person in Inayan Serrada, Masirib Guro Emanuel Hart, is currently living and teaching in Germany. The best way to get to him is via email to guro25@hotmail.com. Good luck. Greetings to all, After reading the article that was sent in by the gentleman which gave details of the political stability within the Philipines, it would seem that they (the Abu Sayyef orginization) maybe be targeted for US involvement. A few weeks back, I was listening to a radio program and a guy called in and stated his opinion that the US would be bombing or take some type of action within the polynesian/Indonesia area and surrounding islands as well. At first when I heard this I was like "Why would the US have interests in involving themselves in the situation with the Philipine islands, or any other islands within the surrounding area anyway???" After reading the article in the digest, I began to think that Bush may wish to wipe out the terrorist threat within the islands if Al-Qaida is closely involved with Abu Sayyef. Of course, alot of media speculation is that Iraq with be next on the list of terrorist-sponsering nations that the US will hit next though. I wonder how US troops would hold up against Islamic guerilla fighters in Mindinao (sp?) If such did happen, it would definetly seem that history is definetly repeating itself. I have seen three of them, the first one (I believe), one on knife defense and one of handgun defense. They are ok. The style is very much one of EXPLODING all over your attacker. Very basic, fast moving, powerful techniques moving straight into/through your opponent. Not much finesse, all power and highly aggressive. Greetings, Normally I don't do this, but I'm doing this just to deseminate the info. out there to those who don't know. I came across a guy who makes wooden kris swords with daggers, war clubs, barongs, and palm sticks. He makes these in a variety of woods, some of them in rare/exotic woods that you may not find easily. His name is Michael Enad and he is located on the east coast in New Jersery. His prices were very reasonable for the product and services he provides. If anyone is intersted or looking for wood replicas for training or decor, give this guy a call. Seems similar to the sorts of stuff going on in Central America in the early '80s, albeit with a larger religious gulf and less cultural homogeneity between the various sides of the conflict. A couple things will be interesting to watch. First is how adroitly the central government keeps dealing with the various Muslim factions, and playing them off each other. Second is how long the West's anti terrorism attention span proves to be. If al Qaeda is establishing a foothold, and if the U.S. is committed to rooting out al Qaeda wherever they set up shop, it will be worth watching how the U.S. goes about addressing the issue. Hopefully there are a bunch of bright Colonels sitting around the Pentagon somewhere designing innovative methods to address problems like these. Whatever the case, I like these Stratfor analysis articles. It's particularly refreshing to see stories broken down into news and opinion sections. Wish other common news sources had that sort of tacit honesty built in. On a wholly unrelated and totally superfluous note, the Washington Post reports today in a review of a new magazine, Mental Floss, that beer created civilization. The article's author claims that hunter gatherers, returning to earlier seasonal camp sites, would occasionally find that stored grain had fermented. Enamored with the result, these folks quickly realized that a nomadic lifestyle was not conducive to the production of malt beverages. As such they'd settle in an area, become agrarian, and establish civilization as a by product. Bottom line is, next time someone tells me to be civilized, I'm gonna crack a Guinness Stout. He said it came in handy when he served in the Israeli military for 4 years, or so. He said they got a lot of late night action when he was over there(not THAT kind of action). From what I've been exposed to, it seems like a very straight forward system. That's my 2 centavos.
