Grandmaster Bo Sayoc, was a very good friend to Grand Tuhon Gaje, as well to many other notable Filipino Instructors in the early 70's. The Filipino social gatherings often took place at the rear of GrandMaster Bo Sayoc's school. Many of those early Filipino Pioneers, such as Mat Marinas, Remy Presas, Leo Gaje were in attendance. Check out the cool video clips of Tuhon Sayoc, and Grand Tuhon Gaje on the Sayoc website (www.Sayoc.com). Yes, today, 12/11. Did I give another date? Sorry, typo. Anyway, Happy Birthday to Suro, today, again... :) Ray Terry raymail@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2001 16:58:43 PST Subject: Re: eskrima: Re: Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #526 > Actually, Tuhon Sayoc predates Mr. McGrath in Pekiti Tirsia. That could very well be the case. I was really asking if Tuhon Bill studied P-T with him. I was not attempting to establish a pecking order. It is oft stated that Sayoc Kali is an offshoot of P-T. Yes? No? Ray Terry raymail@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2001 19:06:31 PST Subject: eskrima: Palawan Palawan An elongated island-province southwest of Mindoro, it is a 55 minute flight from Manila. It is rich in natural resources and boasts of exotic wildlife, white sand beaches, world class snorkeling and scuba diving. Also known as "the last frontier", it is a haven for adventure seekers and nature lovers. Calauit Island in Northern Palawan is a national park and teeming with Palawan's rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. The Tabon Caves in Southern Palawan is a 29-cave complex of archaeological artifacts and fossilized bones of the Tabon man. The skull is carbon dated to be 22,000 years old. Dive spots in Palawan are plentiful, with each site offering a unique array of marine life. The Tubbataha Reefs are the best dive spots in the area. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2001 19:16:15 PST Subject: eskrima: . ------------------------------ End of Inayan_Eskrima/FMA-Digest V8 #527 **************************************** To unsubscribe from the eskrima-digest send the command: unsubscribe eskrima-digest -or- unsubscribe eskrima-digest your.old@address in the BODY (top line, left justified) of a "plain text" e-mail addressed to majordomo@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com.
