Dressing up Bob is particularly popular. My family now talk to me in hushed, soothing voices lest they upset me, and occasionally I overhear their conversations full of long words such as "sanatorium" and "Chlorpromazine"...but I digress. The question of the day is : Silat. My exposure to this wonderful art is limited to the occasional teaching I gratefully receive from Guro Loki Jorgensen and Ed Wong in Vancouver, and my videos. I have two: Bob Orlando's Fighting Arts of Indonesia and Guro S. Plinck's Pukulan Pentjak Silat (published by Paladin Press). Both are excellent tapes, in many ways complementary. I have watched them many times. Recently I noticed in the pages of one of the martial arts magazines that there are many more Silat videos on the market, some by Big Names in the MA community. The question is, therefore, which of these would the list members consider a suitable addition to the other two. He never asked her about medical history, personal reasons for coming to the class or anything - according to her. _________________________ It says more about the instructor. It says that he's an idiot and a prick. Would he do that to some one whom he suspect to be a physical threat? Would he do that to Ken Shamrock if Ken walked into his training hall. I don't think so. Plus many many excellent instructors from around the world. Simply a wonderful time. More later once I return home. But bottom line, a great bunch of people, great times on and off the mat. Highly recommended! Warning to Mississippi... I'll be back, again and again...
