Berne Switzerland for March 16-17 and March 23-24 for Cartagena, Spain. Go to http://www.dogbrothers.com/index1.htm for info. The seminar in Berne will be given in English, with host Benjamin "Lonely Dog" Rittiner tranlating into German when appropriate. The seminar in Spain will be in Spanish. By the way, I saw this today: German claims ten-euro note making him impotent: A German man claims euro notes are making him impotent. Wolfgang Fritz says he is planning to sue the government after he alleges handling his country's new ten-euro note caused the problem. The European Central Bank is now said to be carrying out new safety tests on the notes. "I'm dead in the bedroom," 55-year-old Mr Fritz told the Daily Mail. "I haven't had a spark down there since I started using the notes. I'm ok with other denominations, it's just the ten-euro. It started with headaches and just got worse. It would be funny if it were not so pathetic." His lawyer Hanns-Ekkehard Ploeger is planning a lawsuit against the government, acting for Mr Fritz and others who have been made sick through this currency. Thousands of people in Germany are claiming they have been struck by allergies and ailments after handling the note. Sufferers blame the chemical tributyltin which is only used in the ten-euro note. The Government initially called the claims about ailments as "spurious", but it now says: "If test prove these notes are unsafe, they must be withdrawn." Those of you who are coming, please make payment in other than ten-euro notes. :-D Yip! Is it just a saying or what do you mean with: > If I did not know better I would say your festival was the > biggest fma event ever held. I am not a native english speaker so I need some help: Does that mean that you think it was the biggest or do you know of any bigger one? If yes I would be interested to hear about. > One question ,the picture Schubert2 (118_Festival.jpg), what kind of > sparring was that with what type of sticks? Well with the sticks I am not sure. I checked on their hompage http://www.etf-escrima.com/ and I found that the use some "PP" (some kind of plastic) with an 3 inch security cap on it. The homepage is in Gemany but wou seem to speak german so you might be able to find out. For the fighting it was full contact sparring with the emphasis on imagining bladad weapons. Go on their homepages to "Turniersport" and then to "Turnierregeln". I am sure you can find there what you are looking for. I have been studying Modern Arnis for a few years and have only been practicing Serrada for about 1 year. Yes, this is a loaded question but I don't want to have a piece of paper on the wall that carries no respect. Your honest opinions will be welcomed. Consider the following scenario: A belligerent drunk starts shoving you around, leaving you no choice but to resort to physical violence to defend yourself, and to stop an unarmed assault on the part of the drunk. You pull your closed combat folder and strike the drunk several times in the biceps/triceps area and thigh area, thus ending the assault. Have you just used a "deadly weapon" to stop an unarmed person from harming you? Or used "excessive force" because you used a knife, albeit closed? How do courts view a closed knife as compared to an open knife, or do they even make a distinction? For arguments sake, we should assume that carrying a combat folder in the above scenario is legal, and would not cause separate legal problems. Comments? Thanks.
